According to foreign media sources, the UFC 275 tournament will be held in Singapore on June 11, and there is a middleweight showdown under negotiation, former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whitaker against Marvin Witori.
Robert Whitaker (23-6, 9 K, 5 S) is 31 years old and has a height of 180cm arm span of 185cm. He began his professional MMA career in 2009, won the SFA sub-middleweight championship in 2012, and then participated in the TIF Ultimate Fighter Selection with a (9-2) result and won the TIF Championship of the season to join the UFC, and has achieved a (14-4) result in the UFC so far. Among them, he won the UFC middleweight championship gold belt in 2017, and unfortunately lost the title in the second defending battle of 2019 by Israel Adesanya's KO in the second set. He then went on to win three straights, beating Darren Till, Jared Cannonier and Kelvin Gastelum in points. He began his professional MMA career in 2012, won the Venator FC sub-middleweight title in 2015, joined the UFC in 2016 with a (10-2) result and five consecutive wins, and has achieved a (8-3-1) result in the UFC so far. After losing to Israel Adesanya in a divided judgment in 2018, he began a five-game winning streak starting in 2019, including a point-and-shoot victory over Kevin Holland last April. Challenged UFC middleweight champion Adisaya in June last year to lose the gold belt in a regrettable second-time battle, just after a victory over Paulo Costa in October points, Witori is currently no. 3 in the official UFC welterweight rankings.
The headline main event was UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira (33-7, 18 K, 10 S) against challenger Giri Prohazka (28-3-1, 25 K, 2 S). The joint main event was UFC women's flyweight champion Valentina Shepchenko (22-3, 8 K, 7 S) against challenger Terra Santos (19-1, 10 K, 3 S).
A Chinese player was also identified on the day, with Liang Na (14-5, 6 K, 8 S) against Argentina's Silvana Gomez Juárez (10-4, 6 K, 2 S).
