The UFC 274 tournament, which will take place on May 7, will confirm the UFC light heavyweight champion Gold Belt Title Battle on the same day, with the current champion Glover Teixeira against challenger Czech rising star Giri Prohazka.
Glover Teixeira (33-7, 18 K, 10 S) is 42 years old this year and has a height of 188cm and an arm span of 193cm. He began his professional MMA career in 2002 and joined the UFC in 2012 with a (17-2) score and 15 consecutive wins, playing a five-game winning streak at the UFC, and in April 2014, he challenged UFC champion "Bone" Jon Jones to lose the golden belt. After losing to Phil Davis in October of the same year, he began a three-game winning streak in 2015, but was terminated in August 2016 by Anthony Johnson's first KO defeat. He began his professional MMA career in 2012, winning the GCF Light Heavyweight Championship in 2013 and the defending title once in 2014. He competed in the RIZIN Thor race (14-2-1) in 2015 and won the RIZIN Light Heavyweight Championship Gold Belt in 2019 before defending his title once. He joined the UFC tournament in 2020 with a (26-3-1) score and 10 consecutive wins, making his UFC debut in the second leg of the UFC, KO Volkan Oezdemir, just after ko Dominick Reyes in the second set last May. He has maintained a 12-game winning streak in his career since 2016 and has finished his opponents with 11 KO encounters. Prohazka is currently ranked No. 2 in the UFC official ranking of light heavyweights.
The match also confirmed a women's showdown, with American Women's Messi Chassen (7-2, 2 K, 2 S) against Brazilian Women's Norma Dumont (7-1, 0 K, 2 S).
