Lanyi Bridge is an artist, animator and illustrator based in London and Chengdu. She studied illustration as an undergraduate and then animation at the Royal College of Art, during which she completed a number of immersive vocal and painting practices. The animation works created by Lan Yiqiao beat with shimmering watercolor textures, and the content stems from anxiety and personal difficulties, nourished by childhood memories, reflected in everyday things, and giving birth to a poetic narrative like an absurd dream.

The animated short film "No Man's Garden", which was unveiled at the exhibition, has been shortlisted for many international animation festivals. The Garden is a frame-by-frame animated work of hand-painted watercolors. The animation depicts the author's memory of a small garden from a different perspective, where there is the breath of people, the swing of the swing, the hitting of the racket, but no one is seen.

Animation for Lanyi Bridge is a form of expression that can combine memory, fantasy and dreams, and the combination of sound and picture can also bring the audience an experience that is different from the real feeling. Sound is a very important part of her film, the distance and texture of the sound directly affect the audience's presence and departure. In this work, she also invited two musicians to score the animation, creating a dreamlike feeling of being withdrawn from reality.

Lan Yiqiao introduced to the cover news reporter that it took her half a year to complete "No Man's Garden", during which she also drew a large number of manuscripts for this work, "Although I studied animation, painting has always been my biggest hobby. "Therefore, the exhibition on the day also has a large number of fresh colors, childlike brush strokes, these works are basically based on the theme of the garden, and the fantastic composition is pleasing to the eye.

Lanyi Bridge said: "The garden is another name for the park in my area that can be visited in five minutes. At that time, I often shuttled through it, and I felt that I couldn't play enough. After that, no matter which park I went to, I couldn't help but think of the garden that was forever outside my window. When we retain the illusion in memory, then the space of our childhood attachment that disappears into time will be more real. So the female painter buried her nostalgia in a garden built with a paintbrush.
