Project Description:

Paralympic cross-country skiing is the most widely developed winter sport for people with disabilities and has been included in the official competition since the first Winter Paralympic Games. At the Beijing Winter Paralympic Games, Paralympic cross-country skiing was divided into three individual events: short distance, middle distance and long distance, as well as mixed relay and open relay, and the individual events were divided into three groups of sitting posture, standing posture and visual impairment according to the different disabilities of athletes, with a total of 20 sub-events. According to the rules, the race route requires about one-third of the uphill, downhill and undulating each. The results of the athletes in each group multiplied by the corresponding grading coefficients are the final results of the athletes.

According to the rules, the sitting athlete competes on a specially made sitting ski, which is a chair installed on a pair of skis, and the athlete sits on the chair and slides. Seated ski chairs include seat belts and suspensions, designed to be as lightweight as possible to reduce the burden on athletes and reduce physical exertion. Elastic components such as springs cannot be installed at each connection of the seat, the connection between the seat and the snowboard cannot be adjusted, and the athlete's thigh must be fixed to the seat using non-elastic straps.
