The artifact I am talking about is the manuscript of Soong Ching Ling's "Salute to the Chinese Communist Party". It was once titled "Song Qingling's Congratulatory Speech", and the full text was published in the People's Daily on July 2, 1949, and the original is now in the collection of the Former Residence Memorial Hall of Soong Qingling in Shanghai.
On June 30, 1949, the East China Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC held a "Conference to Celebrate the Twenty-Eighth Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" in Shanghai, at which Song Qingling was invited to attend and delivered a congratulatory speech entitled "Salute to the Communist Party of China".

Deng Yingchao left Beiping as a representative of the CPC Central Committee with this extremely heavy handwritten letter and went south to Shanghai to greet Song Qingling.
At this time, more than a month after the liberation of Shanghai, coinciding with the twenty-eighth anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Deng Yingchao and Chen Yi specially invited Song Qingling to participate in the celebration meeting. Shao Li, director of the Shanghai Song Qingling Former Residence Memorial Hall, said that because Song Qingling was sick at that time, Deng Yingchao read her congratulatory speech on her behalf.
Shao Li: This congratulatory speech was originally a free poem written in English. Song Qingling once gave the English manuscript to Liu Wujie, the daughter of Liu Yazi, who was good at literature, and asked her to translate it into Chinese immediately. After Liu Wuji sent Chinese translation, Song Qingling transcribed it in his own handwriting. At the celebration meeting, when Soong Ching-ling, accompanied by Deng Yingchao and Liao Mengxing, entered the venue, there was a warm applause around her, welcoming Mrs. Sun Yat-sen, who has always stood on the people's stand and unswervingly supported the Communist Party of China.
"This is the new light on earth. Freedom was born, and its warmth and radiance shone in every dark corner shrouded by the forces of reaction. Salute to the freedom of the people! ”
After Song Qingling's congratulatory speech was delivered, the applause of the audience was thunderous and enduring.
Shao Li: Whenever Deng Yingchao's suppressed and frustrated tone fluctuated, it was a big burst of applause, and in the short five-minute reading, the warm applause reached as many as nine times.
In her congratulatory speech, Song Qingling expressed her heartfelt joy at the victory of the people and the leadership of the Communist Party of China in the form of prose poems with six "tributes" and one "long live".
Shao Li: Although the whole text of the congratulatory speech is only a few hundred words, it is full of Soong Ching-ling's deep and sincere feelings for the CPC, pinning her ardent expectations for the future People's Republic, and reflecting that her long-term political stance of standing on the side of the CPC has entered a new realm - always with the party and dedicating every part of her strength to the construction of a new China.
On the day of the publication of "Salute to the Communist Party of China", Soong Ching Ling decided to accept the invitation of Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai and leave Shanghai to go north.

In September 1949, Soong Ching Ling attended the Chinese Political Consultative Conference as a special representative and was elected vice chairman of the Central People's Government. On May 29, 1981, Song Qingling died of illness in his Beijing apartment. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the National People's Congress, and the State Council erected inscriptions for her as a memorial. The great achievements she has made for the country and the people will forever be recorded in the annals of history.
