According to the information, Hino's N04C engine does not comply with Japan's 2016 exhaust emission regulations and its fuel efficiency has not reached the specified value, so it will investigate the Toyota Coaster equipped with the engine.
Currently, Hino is investigating the reasons for the discrepancy in the data and whether there is any misconduct that was deliberately concealed. The specific models involved include the Coaster and Coaster Big Van, with production dates from July 2019 to January 2022, involving about 3,000 vehicles.
Toyota Costa corresponds to the domestic Toyota Costa, and FAW Toyota manufactures and sells it locally. During the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Costa Hydrogen Engine and Costa will be used as special vehicles.
