With the official opening of the Beijing Winter Paralympic Village, athletes have moved in one after another. The facilities in the square area to ensure the participation and life of athletes were also put into operation. On the afternoon of February 26, several maintenance engineers from Germany, France, Italy and China repaired wheelchairs for athletes at the Ottobock Repair Service Center in the Plaza district.

It is understood that the Ottobock maintenance service center is equipped with 12 professional and technical personnel, more than 17,000 kinds of parts, equipped with grinders, band saws, infrared ovens and welding equipment. Everyday equipment such as wheelchairs, prosthetics and orthoses are in good condition. The Technical Maintenance Service Centre will provide free repair services for Paralympic athletes before and during the Games to ensure that athletes can devote themselves to the Games.

In view of the fact that in sports such as Paralympic snowboarding, Paralympic ototonic, Paralympic ice hockey, etc., the probability of damage to the sports equipment used by athletes is very high, so maintenance services are very important to ensure that athletes participate. Since 1988, Ottobock has been the provider of prosthetic, orthosis and wheelchair repair services for the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games.

In this Winter Paralympic Games, Ottobock Maintenance Service Center has set up a small maintenance service center in 5 competition venues, open from 8 am to 9 pm, to provide services for athletes around the clock during the Winter Paralympic Games. With a team of nearly 50 people from 12 countries, including 40 technical experts, maintenance regardless of product brand and manufacturer, it is expected to provide athletes with more than 500 free repair services.
