Ethnic comparison of Ukrainians with Russians
Ukrainians and Russians are indistinguishable in appearance, and they are also very similar in their patrilineal lineage, the main patrilineal line of Russians is 46% R1a, see Figure 1, Ukraine is 44% R1a, the two are really close, both take R1a as the main body, Russia and Ukraine "originally were born from the same root", and have a common history. In terms of matriarchy, Russia has 30% mt-H, and the same is true of Ukraine, mt-H is a common type in Europe. However, the second maternal line of Russia is U, U is K, and mt-U comes from the Caucasus Mountains, which is also one of the common types in Europe. mt-K is found on the Black Sea coast of southern Russia.
