The Russian Navy has stepped up its efforts to the Mediterranean! On February 13, the Russian Navy's submarine Rostov-on-Don crossed the Sea of Marmara and entered the Black Sea through the Strait of Istanbul.

The submarine is the Type 636.3 diesel-electric submarine, the improved Kilo-class submarine. It can launch P-800 "Onyx" and 3M54 anti-ship missiles, which can hit ships 300 kilometers away; the most important is the 3M14 "caliber" cruise missile, which can hit ground targets 2,000 kilometers away, hitting half of Europe and the Middle East, not to mention Ukraine. On December 9, 2015, it was the boat Rostov on Don that launched a salvo cruise missile to strike northern Syria 1,000 kilometers away.
