CNN reporters and witnesses to various Ukrainian cities reported hearing explosions in the early hours of Thursday morning.

KIEV: CNN reporters heard explosions in the Ukrainian capital facing the city's international airport to the east. Social media users reported hearing several explosions in the Boryspil area east of the capital, and the international airport is about 25 kilometers (15 miles) from the city. CNN has yet to confirm that the airport has been targeted.

Kharkov: In Ukraine's second-largest city in the northeast of the country, a team at CNN heard "a steady stream of loud explosions."

Kramatorsk: The eastern city is about 120 kilometers (75 miles) north of separatist-controlled Donetsk, and two people told CNN they heard at least two massive explosions.

Dnipro: A resident of the central city told CNN that they heard "several explosions."

Mariupol: Two residents told CNN they heard explosions in the eastern part of the city in the southeast of the country.

ODESA: A CNN team in the Black Sea port city heard two sets of explosions about 20 minutes apart.

Zaporizhia: A CNN team in the southeastern city said they heard at least one very distant explosion.

In addition, a CNN team in the Russian city of Belgorod, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) north of Kharkiv, said they heard a regular roar that sounded like artillery fire. Headlines hit list
