A native of Hangzhou, Zhejiang. He is good at Chinese painting and cultural relics appraisal. He has successively served as a professor of the Department of Chinese Painting of Xinhua Art College and Shanghai Art College, a member of the appraisal committee of Shanghai Museum, a painter, acting president and honorary dean of Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy, and the vice chairman of The Shanghai Branch of China Artists Association.
