Shandong mysterious "General Tomb", the owner of the tomb does not know where the identity of the mystery, the tomb murals are exquisite

The ancient tombs of the Eastern Han Dynasty consisted of a tomb passage, a Yongdao and a burial chamber. The burial chamber consists of two ear chambers, the front chamber, the rear double burial chamber, the west chamber and the east side, all made of blue bricks, but the size of the blue bricks varies. The tomb is like a mansion, which fully embodies the ancient people's concept of "death is like life".

preface

In the early 1950s, an ancient tomb was excavated near the village of Beizhai in Yinan County, Shandong Province, because a local farmer wanted to build a house for his family. So I went to dig some soil near the village, and in the process of digging the soil, I found a very deep hole, and at that time, the rural tomb robbery was very rampant, and the farmer felt that this hole was somewhat similar to the robbery cave that he had seen before. Moreover, the location where he dug the soil was exactly the location where the old man in the village often mentioned the "general's tomb", and the villager was very vigilant and immediately reported the matter to the village.

Discover princely level tombs from the Eastern Han Dynasty

The local cultural relics bureau soon received a report from Beizhai Village, because the robbery cave was mentioned, so the cultural relics department also attached great importance to it, and soon sent an archaeological team to Beizhai Village to investigate the situation. After the archaeological team came to Beizhai Village, they quickly put into work and did not dare to slack off for a moment, and after professional investigation, it was determined that there was indeed a tomb from the Eastern Han Dynasty.

Moreover, based on the information obtained from the exploration, the archaeological team believes that the specifications of this tomb are also quite high, and should be the specifications that only people of the princely level can enjoy. This discovery made the entire archaeological team very excited, and after careful arrangement, the "Tomb of the General" will be unveiled.

The burial chamber was luxurious but empty

What the hopeful archaeological team did not expect was that after the tomb was opened, they were greeted by an "empty tomb". Not only is there no burial goods inside, but there is not even a coffin and corpse of the "general" in the burial chamber, which makes archaeologists very different, although in ancient times there are records of empty tombs, but such empty tombs are very rare.

The tomb has a total of 8 small chambers, and the entire tomb is made of 280 stones, and there are many exquisite frescoes. Whether it is from the scale of the construction of the tomb or the exquisiteness of the murals in the tomb, it takes a lot of manpower, material resources and financial resources. Moreover, the main mural in the tomb is a picture of the Hu Han army fighting at the Long Bridge, and the mural shows the fierce battlefield to the fullest. There are also murals showing the daily life of the tomb owner, as well as the pursuit of immortality, all of which show the noble status of the tomb owner.

It was a group of tombs

After visiting local villagers, it is said that the tomb was stolen before liberation, and the bones in the tomb were still well-meaning villagers who found a place to bury it, and they can't remember where they were buried. In addition to the fact that the burial chamber was empty, the archaeological team determined through the frescoes that it was a joint burial tomb. The left rear chamber is buried with a woman, and the right back chamber is a man, but this is contrary to the ancient idea that men are inferior to women and the left is respected, which is impossible to make such a mistake in the hierarchical ancient times, so experts speculate that the tomb owner's wife may be married to a general under a noble princess.

In addition to this tomb, two more tombs have been found around, which are a group of tombs in terms of high specifications and structures and techniques of fresco carving. The owner of this Tomb No. 2 and the joint tomb should be the relationship between the father and the son. However, none of the three tombs found anything that could confirm the identity of the owner of the tomb, and looking through the historical data, there was no official or nobleman in the Xinzhou area who matched the identity.

summary

There were rumors that a seal with liu characters was found in Tomb No. 3, but in the end, the identity of the owner of the tomb could not be confirmed. At first, some people thought that the owner of the tomb may be Zhuge Liang's father Zhuge Jue, whose official position at that time was Taishan Juncheng, and the specifications of this tomb also met, but this conjecture was quickly overturned.

There is also a theory that tomb No. 2 may be buried by liu mi, the prince of the Han Dynasty, and Linyi in Shandong was once a fief of Liu Mi, but many details in the tomb do not match, and there is no definite evidence that this is Liu Mi's tomb. Therefore, the mysteries of this "general's tomb" have not all been solved, and the true identity has not been determined.
