Popularize science for everyone
First, let's understand
Fatty liver is the most favored "seven groups"
Diabetics
Obese people
Drug abusers
People with dyslipidemia
People who love to drink
People who stay up late for a long time
People who lose weight quickly
You know these groups of people
Why do you get fatty liver?
1
Alcoholic fatty liver disease
Alcoholic fatty liver disease, as the name suggests, is caused by high alcohol intake.
Long-term excessive alcohol consumption and protein deficiency, or lack of riboflavin, pantothenic acid, and niacin in food will impair liver function, and the damaged liver will be impaired in the metabolism of fatty acids, resulting in excessive accumulation of fat in the liver.
75%-90% of chronic alcoholics have fatty liver disease, while 20%-30% of alcoholic fatty liver disease will eventually develop cirrhosis and even liver cancer.
According to studies, if a person drinks heavily for 2 consecutive weeks, the daily alcohol consumption exceeds 80 grams, or the long-term drinking lasts for 5 years, the daily alcohol consumption exceeds 40 grams for men and more than 20 grams for women, it can lead to alcoholic fatty liver disease or alcoholic hepatitis; if the daily alcohol consumption exceeds 80 grams, 10-15 years can lead to cirrhosis; if alcoholic cirrhosis patients continue to drink, the 2-year case fatality rate can reach 85%.
2
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, 80 to 90% of fatty liver patients do not drink alcohol, but they also suffer from fatty liver, one of the main reasons is obesity.
Half of the obese people in the mainland have mild fatty liver disease, and the incidence of fatty liver disease in severely obese people can reach 60%-70%.
The main reason is that obese people contain a large number of free fatty acids in their blood, which are continuously transported to the liver, which greatly exceeds the metabolic capacity of the liver, causing liver fat accumulation and causing obese fatty liver.
At the same time, high blood pressure, high blood lipids, high blood sugar and other factors can also cause fatty liver. About half of patients with type 2 diabetes have fatty liver, this is because the glucose and fatty acids in the diabetic body can not be well utilized, lipoprotein synthesis is also hindered, most of the glucose and fatty acids in the liver into fat, eventually so that fat accumulates in the liver, triggering fatty liver.
However, skinny people are not absolutely safe! This is due to protein deficiency when malnutrition occurs, resulting in decreased synthesis of very low-density lipoproteins, resulting in impaired liver transport triglycerides, causing fat to accumulate in the liver, and also causing fatty liver.
After getting fatty liver
Do you know what harm it can cause?
When too much fat is stored in the liver, it will affect the supply of blood and nutrients to the liver and its own metabolism, and the liver cells will gradually swell, infiltrate with inflammation, degenerate necrosis, thereby damaging liver function and leading to steatohepatitis.
If this condition is not treated, like viral hepatitis, long-term development will lead to the road of no return for liver fibrosis, cirrhosis and even liver cancer.
Studies have shown that in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, if they are simple fatty liver, the prognosis is relatively good, but if they are not treated in time, they can develop steatohepatitis, which has a cirrhosis incidence rate of up to 25% within 10 years; if alcoholic fatty liver patients continue to drink, they can develop alcoholic hepatitis, 40% of persistent drinkers will progress to cirrhosis, and the mortality rate of those who continue to drink alcohol after developing alcoholic liver cirrhosis is as high as 85%.
Of course, the harm of fatty liver does not stop there
In addition to directly causing cirrhosis and liver cancer
Fatty liver disease can also affect the progression of other liver diseases
Such as aggravating liver damage caused by hepatitis virus, etc
The occurrence of fatty liver is closely related to obesity, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, hypertension and other diseases, which are all part of metabolic syndrome, and together can lead to the occurrence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease and stroke.
In fact, most of the causes of death of fatty liver patients are not liver disease, but malignant tumors related to metabolic syndrome, arteriosclerotic cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, etc.
Although said fatty liver
On the surface, although there are no symptoms
But since it is a disease, it must be treated in time
Symptoms alone should not be used to judge the severity of fatty liver disease
Once the diagnosis is confirmed, it should be positively faced
The treatment of fatty liver disease, in addition to treatment according to medical advice, is fundamentally to rely on their own "control mouth, open legs", diet control and moderate exercise is the key to treatment!
Control the total amount of food intake, eat less high-fat, high-calorie foods, strengthen aerobic exercise, alcoholic fatty liver should also limit alcohol or even quit alcohol.
Fatty liver is not terrible
Ignoring fatty liver and letting it develop is terrible!
