"Dacheng Lecture Hall", located in the Dacheng Hall of the Confucius Temple in Baoshan, also officially ushered in the first lecture of the New Year.
Baoshan Confucius Temple Dacheng Hall, located in Shanghai Songhu Anti-Japanese War Memorial Park, was founded in the twelfth year of the Qianlong Dynasty (1747), and was announced as "Shanghai Cultural Relics Protection Unit" on April 27, 2002, which is one of the four existing Confucius Temples in Shanghai. The Dacheng Hall of the Baoshan Confucius Temple is the main hall dedicated to Confucius, and the statue of Confucius is enshrined in the huge niche carved with dragons and gold, and the main position is Confucius, flanked by the "Twelve Philosophers" statues of Yanzi, Sizi, Zengzi, mencius and so on.
Since the official opening of the "Dacheng Academy" of the Dacheng Hall of the Confucius Temple in Baoshan in September 2020, it has become a learning platform for citizens to study traditional Chinese culture. The regular Dentons Lecture Hall project includes eight categories, including "Chinese Calligraphy, Collection Appreciation, Photography Skills, Intangible Cultural Heritage Face Sculpture, Traditional Incense, Intangible Egg Carving, Traditional Floral Art, and Chinese Tea Art". According to the data, since the establishment of the Dacheng Lecture Hall Project, a total of 26 lectures have been held, attracting more than 1,000 citizens to participate widely, and more than 50 public accounts have been released on relevant public accounts. This year, 11 classes and 43 traditional culture courses will be launched to meet the cultural needs of citizens.
Not only is the content of the course "new", but the relevant units also attach great importance to the maintenance of infrastructure to meet the needs of traditional culture research in the new situation. In order to further enhance the protection and utilization of cultural relics of the Dacheng Hall of the Baoshan Confucius Temple, in 2015, the Dacheng Hall of the Baoshan Confucius Temple was fully repaired, and in 2017, the facilities and equipment were updated. There have been great improvements in fire protection, monitoring, audio, display cabinets, teaching equipment and so on.
In order to meet the needs of different audiences, the relevant units also arrange courses according to different age levels, knowledge levels, interests and hobbies, and realize "on-demand order". In the next step, the museum will also vigorously carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, dig deep into learning resources, expand the way of mission, and make the century-old building of the Baoshan Confucius Temple Dacheng Hall glow with new vitality.
