Last night, Ducati unveiled its first new model of 2022, the XDiavel Nera, a brand new limited edition produced in partnership with Italian furniture and interior design firm Poltrona Frau, limited to 500 units and priced at $29,795 (about 188,000 yuan), $4,200 more than the XDiavel S.
Motorcycles working with interior designers seem like a strange choice, and Ducati actually works with Poltrona Frau's Sports Interiors business unit, which focuses on leather interiors for cars, aviation and rail vehicles, so this limited edition comes with black paint plus special leather seat cushions.
The special seats are made of handmade natural leather called "Pelle Frau", a material that undergoes a special tanning process that is breathable, abrasion and stain resistant. XDiavel Nera's seats feature a laser-engraved "X" pattern and are available in five colours: Siamese Red, Steel Blue, Cement Grey, Orange and Selva Green.
The Nera version also comes with a backrest in the same colour as Pelle Frau leather, and the 500 XDiavel Nera models will also come with an exclusive key ring and an exclusive key box.
The Ducati XDiavel Nera is also equipped with a red cylinder head and caliper cover, although owners can also choose a special helmet with a black pattern similar to a black background.
The Nera version is essentially identical to the regular XDiavel S in other respects, with a Testrastretta DVT 1262 engine, a steel lattice chassis, belt drive, and 240mm-wide rear tires.
The Ducati XDiavel Nera will arrive in March at a price of $29,795, higher than XDiavel ($25,595), XDiavel Dark ($20,895) and XDiavel Black Star ($25,995).
The Nera is the first of three new cars in Ducati, and while we can respect the craftsmanship of well-made leather seats, we are expected to see new models with greater changes on March 3 and March 10.
