When I got off the plane to attend the Berlin International Film Festival, I was surprised to learn that "Drive My Car" had been nominated for four Awards at the Oscars. Being nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best International Film is still incredible.
To be precise, this film can receive such reviews because the story of the original author Haruki Murakami is loved by the public. Even if you lose the love of your life, life goes on. That kind of life is painful, but there is still a glimmer of hope. It's just that if the actors want to physically express that kind of story world, they must be saddled with immeasurable pressure.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and respect to the male protagonist Hidetoshi Nishijima and the outstanding actors. They put in the effort to faithfully portray the character. I hope that this nomination will bring the wonderful performances of the actors and the efforts of the staff who have been supporting them to the eyes of more audiences.
