Since hongqi is independent of FAW, and with the hongqi H5 fast out of the circle, HS5, E-HS9, H9 and other more luxurious products have occupied the new mountain in their respective market segments, especially the flagship Sedan H9, which has become the fourth pole of more than 300,000 medium and large luxury cars in 2021, so that the results have refreshed many people's cognition of the so-called "national official car".
In 2022, Hongqi's flagship lineup will usher in a new automotive product. More importantly, it will be the first L series model after Faw-hongqi's independent operation, that is, the leader-level flagship car series, which is the Faw-hongqi LS7.
Compared to the direct confrontation between the H9 and BBA, this Hongqi LS7 seems to have greater ambitions. Rolls-Royce launched its first flagship SUV product, Cullinan, in 2018, and now the arrival of the Hongqi LS7 is to cross the BBA and pull a certain number of users from the world's top luxury car brands.
Combined with the preview renderings that have been released and the actual pictures of the media test drive activity, the Hongqi LS7 adopts a family-style flagship design language similar to the Hongqi H9, the intake grille adopts the suspended longitudinal banner straight waterfall net, and the flattened red flag logo directly connects the two parts of the hood and the grille. The chrome armor spawned from the headlights will be attached to both ends of the grid, and the daytime driving light belt will form an integral lighting including the outer edge of the headlight, the grille frame, and the edge of the diversion hole, which will also bring out a strong scientific and technological effect while focusing on the advanced route.
The rear part of the car, chrome inserted between the tail lights, thick light bands form a surround through, and the two ends of the contour lights and brake lights will form a flap style to extend downwards, and its internal light cavity is all a combination of digital matrix, although in terms of style, the tail lights will be slightly bloated, but this level of flagship is actually this sense of luxury.
In addition, from this point of view, we can also observe the situation of the body panel. The windows will be surrounded by two layers of decoration inside and outside, in which the C-shaped wrap-around decorative strip formed by the D-pillar will have an aurora engraving texture. In addition, the front fenders have a red flag badge, the door handles maintain the traditional style, and this high-density rim rim inlaid with a traditional gold sunflower label is at least 20 inches in size.
Although the interior of Hongqi's new flagship has not yet been fully announced, whether it is this detailed picture of the touch-sensitive three-spoke steering wheel, or the cabin design and on-board configuration specifications we see on Hongqi H9/H9+, Hongqi LS7 will only have a higher level of luxury performance.
In terms of body size specifications, the Cullinan, a full-size SUV, has a body size of 5341/2000/1837mm, which is already wider than any production SUV in the BBA lineup. Today, the Hongqi LS7 directly raised its body size standard to the level of an extended full-size SUV, and the length, width and height data of 5695/2095/1985mm far exceeded the German and British flagships we saw, and its body wheelbase also came to 3309mm, surpassing Cullinan, and even the Cadillac Careyd lengthened type, becoming the longest production SUV with the longest wheelbase in China.
Power part, FAW's self-developed CA8GV40T-02 model V8 direct injection turbo engine will once again enter our field of vision, compared with the past 4.0T twin-turbo engine used in Hongqi L5 and other models, the newly developed V8 engine is actually not much progress. From the data alone, the maximum power of 265kW on its books is only 17kW higher than the V6 engine on the HS7, which has become the most amazing exposure information of the Hongqi LS7 so far. However, according to the declaration data, this V8 engine can still make the Hongqi LS7 with a curb weight of more than 3.5 tons run to 200km/h, although there is still a significant gap compared to the GLS class that can run to 235km/h, but after all, it is a 4-seat executive version of the model, and how fast the speed is actually relatively less important.

Do not imitate international brands, nor cater to the "boss" taste, Hongqi LS7 gives the domestic luxury car manufacturing industry a new idea, although from the core hardware of the V8 engine, the gap between the mainland and the international first-line brand in the development of core hardware is still completely exposed, which can cater to the tastes of domestic consumers and pull back some users from the top flagships of the German and British departments, so that the Hongqi LS7, which can stimulate national self-confidence, is bound to become another red car in 2022.
