Regarding the new Hongqi H5, information about the new car has appeared on the Internet as early as March this year. Compared with the current model, the new Hongqi H5 adopts a design language similar to the Faw-hongqi H9 family in terms of appearance design. The large intake net and the straight waterfall grille look very atmospheric.
The new headlights are designed in a split style, and if you only look at it from the front, it is difficult to tell whether this is a Red Flag H9 or a Red Flag H5.
The body of the Hongqi H5 is very slender, and there is a sharp waist line running through the entire body, which also adds some sense of power to the whole car. The taillights adopt the same through-line design style as the Hongqi H9, and even sharper than the taillight design lines of the Hongqi H9, and the exhaust layout still uses a bilateral double design.
In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4988/1875/1470mm and a wheelbase of 2920mm. With a body length of nearly 5 meters, the new Hongqi H5 is longer than the standard axle version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series body size, and the wheelbase pencil line Hongqi H5 has also increased by 45mm.
In terms of interior design, the new Hongqi H5 neither uses the design style of the current model, nor adopts the interior design of the Hongqi H9, but adopts a design style that is closer to the Mercedes-Benz C-class, with a firm large-screen central control on the center console and a full LCD dashboard.
In terms of power, the new Hongqi H5 will no longer use the 1.8T turbocharged engine on the current model, and the 1.5T engine will be retained.
In addition, 1.5T hybrid and 2.0T models have been added.
Among them, the 1.5T version is matched with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission with a maximum power of 124 kW and a maximum torque of 258 Nm.
The 2.0T version will be mated to an 8-speed manual transmission with a maximum power of 165 kW and a maximum torque of 340 Nm.
The new car is likely to be officially launched in June, and the starting price of the entry-level model should be around 150,000 yuan.
