The family is the first classroom of life, parents are the first teachers of children, and family guardianship is the first line of protection for minors. In the process of children's growth, the parents' educational responsibility is irreplaceable, and the parents' behavior also directly affects the formation of children's values. The Law of the People's Republic of China on the Promotion of Family Education came into force on January 1, 2022, and "guides" and "empowers" family education in the form of legislation, which means that Chinese parents have entered the era of "bringing babies according to law".
Recently, in the process of handling a juvenile criminal case, the Shenmu Municipal People's Procuratorate found that the parents of the minors involved in the case neglected to care, communicate, and manage their children on the grounds of busy work, which in turn led to the minor's lack of ability to distinguish between right and wrong, and smoked, drank, did not return at night, and even embarked on the road of breaking the law and committing crimes for a long time. In order to strengthen family education guidance and enhance parents' education ability, Shenmu Municipal Court delivered the "Family Education Order" to the parents of the minors involved in the case, "making up lessons" for family education, and urging parents to "bring babies according to law".
In the process of announcing the delivery, the procurator undertaking the worked together with the parents to formulate a family education plan in view of the minor's strong self-esteem personality characteristics, and informed the parents that they should educate their children in a respectful manner, guide the children to "compete for the lead" in all aspects of morality, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic work, rather than using irony, radicalization, and other methods to stimulate minors, and should use family affection and love as a link, and use the power of love to guide the child and subtly convey values in a way of equal communication.
In order to help minors regain themselves and return to society, the Shenmu Municipal People's Procuratorate invited psychological counselors to conduct special psychological counseling for the minor to help him open up himself and eliminate the gap with his parents.
In the future work process, the Shenmu Municipal People's Procuratorate will continue to take the "Family Education Order" as the starting point, strengthen family education guidance, implement follow-up and return visits, and contribute to the implementation of family education responsibilities.
