Ming Dynasty calligrapher And painter Chen Element calligraphy essence.

Chen Element, Ming Dynasty calligrapher and painter. The characters GuBai, Xiaoping, Jingang, Su Weng, Mr. Chu Kuo, Mr. Zhenwen, a native of Changzhou (now Suzhou, Jiangsu), the southern province of Suzhou, were born in Wanli.

In the thirty-fourth year of the Wanli Calendar (1606), he failed to pass the township examination, read a lot of books, and became famous for a while. Early negative talent, Gong Shiwen, Youshan calligraphy, Kai calligraphy Ouyang Inquiry, Qing Jin upright. Grass into the second king grid.

Painting landscapes, meaning Qingyuan. You Shan Mo Lan, Lan Ye Yan Yang, Ink Flowers Overflowing, Transcendent Dust, Chu Qi Qing Fen, Dewen Zhengming's Beauty and More Temperament, Blue Out of Blue, Beyond Wang Guxiang and Zhou Tianqiu, Inch Ruler, People Fight for Treasure.

During his lifetime, he wrote a short biography for Wang Pet, which is beautiful in words and free in volume, which is comparable to his calligraphy style. There are "Biography of Famous Generals of Ancient and Modern Times" and "Nanmu Riji".

The forty-third year of the Wanli Calendar was the preface to Shen Zhou's "Collection of Mr. Ishida". The painting traces include the 37th year of the Wanli Dynasty when he wrote "Mo Lan Tu", which was recorded in the "Zhiyutang Calligraphy and Painting Record". Among the works passed down from generation to generation are the "Lan Shi Tu" axis cooperated with Liu Yuanqi in the forty-eighth year of the Wanli Calendar (1620), which is signed: "Gengshen Bath Buddha Day Huayang Dongtian Drama, Chen Element." In the first year of Chongzhen (1628), he wrote the volume of "Mo Lan Tu", which is now in the Palace Museum; cooperated with Shao Mi in the "Lan Zhu Tu" axis into Japan; the third year of the Apocalypse made the "Mo Lan Tu" axis, which was signed: "When the Mid-Autumn Festival of the Decay Was made in the Iron Flower Min of Tiger Hill, Chen Element." "The Tibetan American Mr. Wang Hasqian Huaiyun Lou; the Seventh Year of the Apocalypse (1627) composed the "Molan Scroll", and the Fourth Year of Chongzhen (1631) cooperated with Sheng Maoye to "Lan Shi Tu" volume in the Shanghai Museum. The art activities are about between Wanli and Chongzhen.

Chen Element, Son Chen Mai, Zi Xiaoguan, inherited his father's art, kangxi six years (1667) with Guizhuang, Jin Junming cooperated in the "Three Friends Diagram" axis.

Chen Element's cursive works, the turn is round and contains elegance, vertical and horizontal and steady stop, in addition to the great order, but also quite a rate of more penmanship, so the fold is not too square, the turn is not tired of the circle. Because Chen Yuan's calligraphy has not been circulated much, there are few records of his life and deeds, but it is still possible to glimpse the whole picture.

Chen Element calligraphy belongs to the handsome all the way, the Kaimeng Fa Ti is Tang Kai Ouyang inquiry a vein, the knot in the middle of the palace tightened, with the pen introverted and dangerous, the pen square round, and the popular "non-Yan (Zhenqing) that is, Zhao (Meng Fu) style is very different. However, the fresh and cheerful atmosphere revealed between the lines in this volume seems to be more talented than Wen Zhengming.

The Ming Dynasty was an era in which inscriptions were prevalent, and the scribes chased the "two kings" from afar. The choice and understanding of the engraving is the key to the achievement of the writer. Judging from the works of calligraphers handed down from the Ming Dynasty, there are roughly two kinds of drawbacks:

First, the "carved taste" covers up the penmanship, full of carved habits, and thinks that it has ancient fun, which is actually the result of blind obedience and food in the ancient world.

The second is the horizontal method. Many readers, out of the need to take the test, take shortcuts, tend to the wind, and seek speed, some like the situation where people today blindly imitate the works of the judges in order to participate in the exhibition and participate in the competition. The reproduction of close relatives leads to narrow methods, not deep into the ancients, and low temperament, and eventually can only go around in circles in exquisite and charming, which is the most common drawback of Ming calligraphy.

The brilliance of Chen Element's calligraphy is that he is not tainted with the customs of the times, but also has embarked on a path that conforms to aesthetic fashion.

In terms of chasing Wei Jin from afar, he was able to "see the pen through the blade", leaving no trace of the "Ge Ti", and getting yi shaozhen essence, and writing elegant and handsome.

In terms of "scale Song and Yuan", he accurately grasped the composure and posture of Mi Fu, making the beautiful knot body more beautiful and elegant, chuchu and moving.

In terms of horizontal extraction, although his calligraphy has the shadows of Wen Zhengming and Dong Qichang, it is not taken directly, but skillfully integrated after cutting, so as to achieve the purpose of being used by me.

Therefore, Chen Element calligraphy has the charm of Wen Zhengming and is more generous and heavy, which can be described as blue out of blue. Compared with Dong Shu, he is compatible with Xiao San's artistic characteristics, so that the works add to the volume atmosphere at the same time, less sweet and fat powder.

In short, Chen Element is a good scholar in calligraphy and painting, with compelling talent, extraordinary, and a genius calligrapher.
