In 1528, the 59-year-old Wen Zhengming and Wang Pet traveled with Wang Pet to the Lengga Mountain, where they spent the night in a temple on the Lengga Mountain. The snow was flying outside the window, and Wang Pet took out a pen and ink paper and asked Wen Zhengming to help him draw it, hoping to keep the rare beauty on the paper.

This painting lasted for five years.

In 1532, Wen Zhengming completed the creation of the "Snow Map of Guanshan Mountain", a long volume that vividly depicts the magnificent scenery of the mountains in winter. In the painting, the mountains are magnificent and snow-capped in winter, and the painter hooks out the images of mountains, water banks, pines, cottages, and figures, and the characters in the picture are mostly dressed in red, which makes the characters stand out between heaven and earth and is unique.

The inscription at the end of the scroll reads: "The ancient masters and gentlemen often like to write landscapes and rivers to entertain themselves. However, those who write more snow scenes, Gai wants to pretend to send his lonely and high meanings, if Wang Majie's Snow Creek Map, Li Cheng's Wanshan Flying Snow, Li Tang's Snow Mountain Pavilion, Yan Ciping's Cold Rock Snow, Guo Zhongshu's Snow Ji Jiangxing, Zhao Songxue's Yuan An Woxue, Huang Da's Nine Peaks Xueji, And Wang Shuming's Sword Pavilion, are all famous, and are popular in the past and present..." It can be seen from this that the painter's appreciation for the ancient people's snow landscape map also wants to express his "lonely and high"personality through the snow landscape.
