Recently, Aika Automobile learned from SAIC Roewe that SAIC Roewe will increase the price of many of its new energy models from March 1, 2022. However, there is no mention of specific models and price increases.

SAIC Roewe said that due to the global chip shortage and the decline of the national new energy subsidy policy and other unfavorable factors, forced by the upward pressure of costs, SAIC Roewe had to decide to raise the official guidance price of many of its new energy models from March 1, 2022, in response to changes in the new energy market. Customers who have paid a deposit before this time to sign up for car purchase will not be affected by this price adjustment.
SAIC Roewe said that the global chip shortage, pushing up production costs, subsidy policies declining, affecting terminal prices, multiple force majeure factors led to product prices rise, but also hope that consumers understand. SAIC Roewe will make every effort to ensure the production capacity and supply of its models. According to official data, SAIC Roewe sold 9,892 new energy models in January 2022, an increase of 80% month-on-month and an increase of 85% year-on-year.
Previously, a number of new energy models of BYD, Xiaopeng Automobile, Nezha Automobile, GAC E-An and other brands have announced price increases, generally with price increases of about 3,000-5,000 yuan. Tesla announced on December 31, 2021, that the rear-wheel drive versions of the Model 3 and Model Y were priced by 10,000 yuan and 21,000 yuan respectively.
