Jiro Nitta was an ordinary soldier in the Japanese Kwantung Army invading China. Before he could graduate from high school, he was conscripted into the army and crossed the sea from the Japanese island of Kyushu to serve in northeast China, then called Manchukuo.

One summer afternoon, Jiro Nitta sneaked out of his stronghold and wandered around a nearby village, hoping to do something bad like stealing chickens and dogs, flirting with women, but was found alive by a guerrilla group of the Anti-Coalition Forces and captured alive.

Jiro Nitta has been in Manchuria for more than two years and can communicate easily with Chinese. But in front of the guerrillas, he pretended not to understand Chinese and spoke only Japanese. The guerrillas called for a cadre in the unit who knew Japanese and learned about the japanese positioning nearby and some other problems. Then, escorted by two fighters, they were transferred along with the guerrillas.

Jiro Nitta followed the guerrilla group deep into the mountains. Unexpectedly, in the middle of the night, the Japanese puppet army dispatched a large number of people and horses, quietly surrounded the mountain, and conducted a carpet search. Fortunately, here the mountains are densely forested, the ravines are long, and there are several very hidden caves, and the guerrillas took Jiro Nitta and played "hide-and-seek" with the Japanese puppet army. The Japanese puppet army searched several times and found no trace of them.

Unwilling to accept defeat, the Japanese puppet army sent troops to camp at the foot of the mountain and blocked all roads into the mountain, hoping to "trap" the anti-coalition guerrillas.

In order not to expose the target, the anti-coalition guerrillas hid for several days. Although there are some wild fruits on the mountain that can fill the hunger, it is not hungry after all! Just when everyone was hungry and panicked, a local female cadre cut a path to climb a cliff and risk death into the mountain to join the joint, and also carried a pocket of cooked potatoes. The players were very happy and were waiting for the captain to assign it!

Captain Wu offered to give the captives a potato, which was immediately opposed by the others. Some people say that the Japanese devils kill people and set fires in China, and they do nothing wrong, even if they don't kill him, even if they starve him for a few days, they will cheapen him. Captain Wu has repeatedly done work with the team members, giving preferential treatment to prisoners is our army's policy, we must implement them, prisoners are also people, we must care for and love him...

In the end, it was unanimously agreed that Captain Wu would give Jiro Nitta a large potato.

The guerrillas heard each other's words, and he thanked Captain Wu in his heart as he held the potato.

It was early in the dark in the northern mountains, and Captain Wu took advantage of the night to take everyone to move, but as soon as they came out of the mountain, they were strafed by the japanese puppet army machine guns. Captain Wu asked Jiro Nitta to shout to the Japanese army, saying that he was Jiro Nitta and had fallen into the anti-gang and did not shoot and injure his own people by mistake. Knowing this shout, the strafing of the Japanese puppet army not only did not stop, but became more violent, and Takeo Miki felt chilled and was also very disappointed.

Captain Wu led the team members to fight and retreat, and unfortunately was shot and killed in the last moment of covering the breakthrough of his comrades. The bravery and indomitable spirit of the anti-coalition fighters gave Jiro Nitta a great shock.

Jiro Nitta followed the guerrillas and successfully broke out of the Japanese encirclement. Later, under the education of the cadres of the Anti-Japanese League, he realized the evils of the Japanese aggressors and saw the disaster brought by the war to the Chinese people, so he resolutely sided with the Chinese people and became a fighter in the anti-war alliance.

After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Jiro Nitta returned to Japan at great lengths. After his stable life, he became a messenger to publicize Sino-Japanese friendship and did a lot of work to promote Sino-Japanese friendly exchanges. He also took his family to the northeast many times, went to the mountain where Captain Wu was sacrificed, and ate some "stew potatoes" in the northeast in the local area, in order to remember Captain Wu who died that year, as well as those soldiers of the Anti-Japanese Alliance.
