The anti-Japanese hero Zhao Shangzhi was a Chaoyang native of Liaoning, the founder and leader of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army, who fought in the northeast anti-Japanese front for a long time, and was a general with appeal, influence and resolute resistance to Japan.

The Japanese army was very annoyed by Zhao Shangzhi's existence, and offered a reward of 10,000 yuan to arrest him, with the saying that "one coin and one gold, one or two meats get one or two silver".

In February 1942, Zhao Shangzhi led a guerrilla force in the Heilongjiang area. A traitor named Liu Deshan (real name Liu Haifeng), who was bribed by the Japanese to lead Zhao Shangzhi into the encirclement of the Japanese army, and then shot and wounded Zhao Shangzhi, Zhao Shangzhi was seriously injured, immediately drew his gun and counterattacked to kill Liu Deshan, but also died because of his injuries, only 33 years old. Japanese soldiers cut off Zhao Shangzhi's head and threw his body into the Songhua River. Later, Zhao Shangzhi's head was taken away by Chinese monks and buried in the Banruo Temple in Changchun, but the specific location is unknown.

Decades have passed since. In 2004, a wall in The Temple fell into disrepair and the skull reappeared, and after forensic comparison, it was determined that it was Zhao Shangzhi's skull. Later, the skull was buried in General Mountain, Shangzhi Township, Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province.

The picture shows a photo of Zhao Shangzhi's skull, and there is a small pit on the inside of the cheekbone below his left orbit, which is confirmed to be the trace of zhao Shangzhi's injury under his left eye during the previous battle.
