How to block plug-in cheating has always been a problem that all FPS game developers are trying to solve, and the tactical competitive shooting "Rainbow Six Siege" is no exception, and recently Ubisoft publicly reported anti-cheat report results, with a total of more than 166,000 plug-in accounts officially blocked.
This statistic is calculated from August 2020 to January 2022 by BattlEye and background data blocked, officially and supplemented by the fact that from November last year to January this year, an additional 3,114 online character accounts were blocked.
It is worth noting that Ubisoft emphasized in the tweet to update the anti-cheat system to catch those plug-ins that cheat through system vulnerabilities, and the main features of these plug-ins are "killing all players in the lobby at the opening moment", "using drones to make battles go down", "using drones to cause melee damage" and other behaviors.
At the same time, the R6 team also announced that it has worked with a third-party team to develop a new telephone verification system and encourage players to continue to report cheating plug-ins, including providing obvious video or screenshot evidence.
Since the launch of Rainbow Six: Siege in 2015, according to Steam data, the number of players has reached a peak of an average of more than 100,000 players in March 2020, but the problem of plug-in cheating has also been plaguing the player community, making anti-cheating the top priority of the current official team.
