Walking into dongyue temple, the first thing that comes into sight is this magnificent and towering ancient building in front of you, which is the Feiyun Building, which is known as the "world's first wooden building".

"Wanrong has a flying cloud building, half-cut in the clouds", I think you have heard of this familiar saying. Indeed, Feiyun Tower is the most outstanding representative of ancient architecture in the Wanrong Dongyue Temple Scenic Area, and it is also a landmark building with great cultural heritage in the entire Vang Vieng County. Its building height is 23.19 meters, and it and the wooden pagoda of Ying County reflect each other, and are known as the "South Tower north tower" of Shanxi.

I heard that the building of Feiyun Building has four main characteristics: First, it is a pure wood structure. Regardless of the size of the interface is riveted, there is no iron nail; the second feature is that its bottom layer is square, the face is wide and deep, five rooms each, the north and south are straight, the wooden pillars are lined up, there are four pillars in the middle that lead to the roof, and there are 32 wooden pillars around it that are cleverly connected into a checkerboard shape to jointly support the building. At the bottom of the building you can clearly see the pillar, which has a single height of 15.49 meters. The third feature is that it has three bright and five dark floors: the second and third floors are each out of the holding building, all of which are maintained by railings, and are divided into three rooms with two flat columns, with a roof on the top, the mountain flowers forward, and the following with interspersed materials to support, the structure is ingenious. The fourth feature is three floors of four drops of water, cross rest on the top of the mountain, the whole building has a total of 345 groups of bucket arches, exquisite appearance, constitute the building's extremely rich contour line, and the morphology is varied, such as clouds clustered, flowers blooming, each eaves wing angle upturned, giving people a sense of flying in the air, and because the bucket arch is stacked, such as cloud belt winding, so it is named Feiyun Building.

Because the architecture of Feiyun Lou is ingenious and can be called the wonder of ancient architecture in the mainland, for a long time, folklore and legend have that Feiyun Lou was built by Grandmaster Lu Ban, in fact, this is just a good wish of Wanrong people to be proud of Feiyun Lou today, which is used to describe the exquisite architecture of Feiyun Lou.
