Volunteer "micro-fire" to illuminate the Winter Olympics (on-site commentary)

At the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, volunteers in the audience area never wore gloves. After inquiring, I learned that it was to make the applause louder. After the opening ceremony, from the National Stadium to the bus stop, a volunteer greeted and patiently guided every few meters. The wonderful opening ceremony is frozen into a classic, and the efforts of the behind-the-scenes participants bring lasting warmth and emotion to people.

Volunteer service is an important guarantee for the success of the Olympic Games, and volunteers are the bright business card of the host city of the Olympic Games. The number of volunteers for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games exceeded 1 million, and of the 19,000 volunteers finally hired, 94% were under the age of 35, and the scope of services covered dozens of business fields such as sports competitions, venue management, language services, and news operations. From the main media center to the competition venues to the community streets of Beijing and Zhangjiakou, there are volunteers everywhere. In particular, about 200,000 urban volunteers provided services in urban transportation, information consultation, civilization advocacy and other aspects, dressing up the Winter Olympics and lighting up the city with full enthusiasm and warm smiles. A series of flowing volunteer landscapes and brilliant youthful smiling faces show a high-spirited spirit and add bright colors to the Winter Olympics.

After tempering and baptism, the youthful style can bloom at the Winter Olympic Games. From event service, concierge reception to venue operation and cultural display, a volunteer team with good comprehensive quality, high service level and strong professional ability needs extensive recruitment, strict selection and scientific training. In order to ensure the professionalism of the volunteers, the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee has planned more than 20 compulsory courses for the volunteers, and the volunteers also need to go through four stages of general training, professional training, venue training and on-the-job training before taking up their posts. In hundreds of repeated polishing, the "smiling business card" is polished and brighter. Through the professional and meticulous service of the volunteers and the full mental state, the foreign athletes felt the hospitality and civility of the Chinese people.

The charm of the Winter Olympics is not only that athletes from all over the world compete on the same stage, but also in promoting more people to pay attention to, support and participate in ice and snow sports. Since Beijing's successful bid to host the Winter Olympics and the Winter Paralympic Games in 2015, the number of participants in ice and snow sports in the country has reached 346 million, and the goal of "driving 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports" has become a reality. From the Olympic athletes who train hard and work hard, to the medical security team that escorts the safety of athletes; from the media reporters who constantly enrich the content of communication and innovate the way of communication, to the ice makers and snowmakers who study and grope day after day... The Beijing Winter Olympics are a window to show China to the world. Rich Chinese elements are widely disseminated with the help of the Winter Olympic stage. The unique charm of Beijing, the "City of the Two Olympics", which is both ancient and modern, is also more vivid and three-dimensional in the introduction of volunteers. The dedication of the volunteers is integrated with the stories of stadium construction, ice and snow "rice bowl" running well-off, and racing field struggle, showing the world a good image of sunshine, prosperity and openness.

In 2008, Beijing dedicated an unparalleled Summer Olympic Games to the world, and 14 years later, the Beijing Winter Olympics once again delivered the "message of spring" to the world.
