The establishment of a green enterprise is a major measure taken by the Party Group of China National Petroleum Corporation to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, and is an important starting point for the implementation of the green and low-carbon development strategy of the Group. Since 2021, PetroChina has continued to carry out the creation of green enterprises in oil and gas fields, oil refining and chemical industry, refined oil sales, oil and gas field technical services, natural gas sales and other business fields, promoting the creation and upgrading of enterprises through certification, and promoting the green and low-carbon transformation and development of various enterprises. Up to now, 54 PetroChina companies have passed the green enterprise certification.

In 2024, on the basis of comprehensively summarizing the achievements of the past three years, the Ministry of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Protection of CNPC will carry out a special action to create and improve green enterprises, and issued the Action Plan for the Creation and Promotion of PetroChina Green Enterprises in February to make comprehensive arrangements for the construction of green enterprises.
On the basis of the creation of green enterprises as the core, the certification specifications and review specifications issued this time have coordinated and promoted the integrated creation of green enterprises, green mines, green factories, green units and green grassroots, increased the index requirements for ecological civilization construction and green and low-carbon supply chain, and increased the proportion of scores, adding the background color of green development.
The relevant person in charge of the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Protection Department of China National Petroleum Group said that the next step will be to strengthen the publicity and implementation of standardized training, carry out research and supervision, and continue to increase guidance and assistance. At the same time, we will strengthen publicity and reporting on the benchmarking demonstration enterprises and grassroots units, typical experience and practices, and outstanding deeds that have emerged in the process of creating and upgrading green enterprises, so as to create a good atmosphere for everyone to create and compete for the first.
