At 22:51 on February 9, the power outage at the Super 8 Hotel on Paiwei Road in Taijiang District, Fuzhou, caused five people to be trapped in the elevator, including a pregnant woman and a 6-year-old boy. After receiving the alarm, the local fire department immediately organized rescue forces to rush to the scene to rescue.
After the fire rescue personnel arrived at the hotel, the hotel staff introduced that the elevator had been operating normally earlier, and suddenly the hotel had a power outage, and the elevator was stuck on the second floor and a half. The hotel staff asked through shouting that there were 5 people trapped in the elevator at that time, and they had been trapped for nearly 20 minutes.
Fire rescue personnel at the scene found that the elevator on the second floor of the hotel was not enabled, some debris was piled up, and the door of the elevator was also sealed with a guardrail. Fire rescuers began to try to use the elevator key to open the elevator door, but they were unsuccessful due to the barrier of the guardrail.
Subsequently, the fire rescuer went to the elevator machine room on the roof of the building for the rescue of the ladder, ready to manually lower the elevator car to the level of the 1st floor, but due to the damage of the manual operation facilities of the elevator, the fire rescue personnel decided to demolish the guardrail outside the elevator on the 2nd floor.
In the rescue process, in order to avoid accidents in pregnant women, fire rescue personnel are divided into two groups, one group to soothe the emotions of the trapped people, eliminate the fear and anxiety of the trapped people, a group of fire demolition tools to cut the guardrails one by one, and then remove the guardrails, and open the elevator doors with the elevator key.
Because the elevator car was stuck in mid-air and there was a deep well under the car, fire rescue personnel stood on the left and right sides of the elevator door and moved a pregnant woman, a child, a woman and two men to safety in turn. After more than 30 minutes of intense rescue, the 5 trapped people successfully escaped from danger, and after a preliminary examination, their bodies were not seriously damaged.
