"A moment of spring supper is worth a thousand gold", often used to remind people to have fun in time. It is even sometimes used in unspeakable situations. But it is very different from Su Shi's original meaning, in fact, the latter sentence is more beautiful, and the whole poem exhausts the philosophy of life.
The poem is called "Spring Supper".
The full text is as follows:
A moment of spring supper is worth a thousand gold,
The flowers have a fragrant moon and a yin.
The song pipe floor is thin,
The swing courtyard is dark at night.
Translated into the vernacular: a spring night, a quarter of an hour is worth thousands of dollars. The flowers emit a delicate fragrance, and the moonlight casts on the flowers, leaving a hazy shadow. On the tall buildings in the distance, the dignitaries and nobles are enjoying the singing and dancing, the silk and bamboo orchestra is bursting, and the courtyard with swings is quiet and lonely in the night.
Take a closer look.
The opening sentence of this poem actually says that time is precious, similar to "an inch of time and an inch of gold" . Immediately after the second sentence there are "flowers", "moon", fragrance, moon shadow, is a very beautiful scene. Exhort people, as long as they work hard, they will have a long moon and flowers.
The last two sentences first write that the dignitaries and nobles are drunk and dreaming of death on the tall buildings, and then depict the lonely emptiness of a lonely courtyard "night deep". The taste of irony, jumping on the paper, implies that those rich aristocrats who only know how to enjoy the drunkenness of paper have wasted their good time and will not get anything in the end.
Su Shi wrote this poem, originally to encourage readers, a moment of spring supper is worth thousands of dollars, do not waste good time.
