In fact, while Chuck Jones's version of Tom and Jerry is a childhood shadow for many people — the real horror of it is Jean Daycher's 1961 version of Tom and Jerry.
Since the production of "Tom and Jerry" was stopped before, this comeback, MGM's animation department has been dissolved. So they outsourced directly to the aforementioned Eastern European film companies, with Jean Decher directing and writing the new tom and jerry.
Jean Daicher produced what claims to be the darkest and worst 13 episodes in history, Tom and Jerry. Even when it was first introduced to China, this version was abandoned because it was too dark, so most people did not see this version in childhood.
On the screen, its production level is rough, the video frame rate is lower, the viewing experience is not as smooth as the previous version, and the picture has the feeling of B-level animation.
Although the image of the protagonist is not scary compared to Chuck Jones, its plot is violent and dark, making people uncomfortable to watch.
For example, the most representative episode of "Cat and Dog Swap" tells the story of an evil scientist who does inhuman biological experiments in the castle and swaps the bodies of cats and dogs in the middle of a stormy, lightning and thunderous castle.
This version of Tom and Jerry makes people feel that real violence is pervasive everywhere, and creepy horror gossip with sharp BGM is even more difficult for the faint of heart to accept.
