Nantong Public Security Fusion Team cracks down on food and drug ring crimes

Since last year, the Nantong Municipal Public Security Bureau has taken the establishment of a fusion team to combat food and drug crimes and an integration team to combat environmental crimes as the driving force, severely cracked down on food, drugs and environmental resources violations and crimes, and detected 231 cases of food and drug rings.

Meng Lin, head of the Food and Drug Ring Investigation Detachment of the Nantong Municipal Public Security Bureau, introduced that they integrated police resources, changed the investigation mode, innovated and implemented the mode of cracking down on food and drug ring crimes, and targeted the occurrence of food and drug ring cases in the jurisdiction, the characteristics of the case, and the criminal gangs to carry out collusion and analysis, intensive case investigation and classified crackdown, and comprehensively improve the quality and effectiveness of the crackdown. The detachment also successfully established a crime integration team with the market supervision department and the ecological environment department, and led by the "Kunlun 2021" special action, closely focused on the ecological protection of the Yangtze River Basin, gave full play to its functional role, continued to increase the crackdown on food and drug crimes such as fake and shoddy food, fake wine, vaccines, etc., severely cracked down on environmental pollution, illegal fishing, and illegal acquisition of precious and endangered wild animals in the Yangtze River Basin, and successively cracked the "5·25" A series of major cases related to people's livelihood, such as the case of the production and sale of toxic and harmful food.

The Nantong Municipal Public Security Bureau has grasped the "on-site investigation" as an important measure to consolidate the basic work and standardize and fair law enforcement, comprehensively implement the system of on-site investigation and hierarchical investigation of food and drug ring cases, and build 8 food and drug ring detection and rapid inspection technology rooms, equipped with 26 part-time technicians and 16 fast inspectors, providing strong support and guarantee for the investigation and cracking of cases.

While the Nantong Municipal Public Security Bureau's Food and Drug Environmental Investigation Detachment, together with the Market Supervision Bureau and the Bureau of Ecology and Environment, jointly established a combatant integration team to combat crime, it further improved the execution connection between public security and administrative departments through information sharing, joint meetings, joint inspections, joint case handling, etc., to comprehensively ensure the timeliness and efficiency of cracking down on crime. Strengthen coordination and cooperation with police departments such as cyber security and criminal investigation, coordinate the superior resources of police departments, and discuss joint crackdown efforts on special topics. In addition, take the initiative to invite procuratorial organs to intervene in advance, guide the collection of evidence, establish and complete working mechanisms such as joint meetings, joint training, and case consultations, promptly resolve key and difficult issues such as case characterization, application of law, and evidence determination, and improve the quality and efficiency of case handling.
