The special "mother" in the welfare home: holding up a clear sky for the children with her heart

author:Han News

"Give you a heart, give you a flower; You have been so touched in my life; You are my angel, guiding me all the way; No matter how the years change, love you to sing into a song...... "On Mother's Day on May 12, the innocent and simple singing voices of the children in the Yunfu Welfare Institute were full of affection, which was their Mother's Day gift to the "mothers".

If they are not related by blood, they are like blood relatives, they are the staff of the welfare home. This special group of "mothers" guards the children in another way, and for them, taking care of these children is not only a job, but also a responsibility and a concern.

On the occasion of Mother's Day, let's walk into their stories......

Ten years of persistence

She said that the children are concerned

"Yueyue (pseudonym): Have you eaten well in the past two days? Have you studied with your friends...... "As soon as he returned to the welfare home, Li Xiaohua, the head of the children's department, cared about the children's lives. This is Li Xiaohua's 10th year working in child welfare. In the past ten years, she has taken care of the children's daily life, taken the children for rehabilitation, and held parent-teacher conferences for the children...... She has also watched the children grow up, and for her, the children in the welfare home are all concerns.

At present, there are 64 minor children living in the Yunfu Welfare Institute, most of whom have more or less physical or intellectual disabilities, and it is difficult to take care of them. "Medical care and care for children with special needs takes up most of the time." Li Xiaohua said that some children sometimes can't control their emotions, which makes it more difficult to care, but Li Xiaohua has a set of "little tricks" to comfort children. "Just like ordinary children, these children have their own preferences, and as long as they find something that interests them, they will be very well-behaved." Regarding the children's preferences, Li Xiaohua also cherishes them: "Ah Wei (pseudonym) has a visual impairment, but he likes music very much, and when he is unwilling to cooperate with the treatment, he will calm down when he plays a piece of music for him." ”

There are also some children in the orphanage who can go to school normally, and these children attend six schools in the city, and Li Xiaohua and his colleagues pick up and drop off their children to and from school every day. For these children, Li Xiaohua is more strict. "This is an opportunity for the kids, and I hope they take this opportunity and have a better future." In order to integrate these children into the school, Li Xiaohua participates in the children's parent-teacher meetings as a "mother", often communicates with the class teacher, and cares about the children's interpersonal communication and academic performance at school. "I will reward them for their progress, I will also criticize them for being mischievous, tell them the right thing to do, and do my best to create a 'home' feeling for them."

24-hour guard

She said taking care of children has become a habit

Like Li Xiaohua, Liang Chaomei is also called "mother", she also treats the tedious work day after day with love and patience, giving them enough "mother" warmth.

Three years ago, Liang Chaomei became a nursing staff in the children's department of Yunfu Welfare Institute, and since then she has started a nursing career of feeding the children with water, feeding, bathing, and changing diapers every day. Liang Chaomei used to work in a kindergarten and had experience in taking care of children, but when she first came to the welfare home, she still felt uncomfortable. The nursing staff of Yunfu Welfare Institute work in three shifts, guarding the children 24 hours a day, checking the room once every one to two hours during the day and once an hour at night, so as to keep abreast of the children's situation. "There are more than 20 children on our floor, most of whom are handicapped and basically unable to take care of themselves in their daily lives, so they must be constantly watched and not slack."

In order to make the children's living environment more comfortable, Liang Chaomei and her colleagues change the bed sheets and quilt covers for the children every day, clean more than a dozen rooms and children's activity areas, and bathe and change clothes for them every day in summer. "Sometimes I get tired." Liang Chaomei said frankly, "But watching the children grow up slowly, I feel that these are all worth it." ”

From Novice to Nursing "Mom"

She said that let the heart be closer to the children

Like Liang Chaomei, Zhang Yueqiong is also a staff member responsible for the care of special children. Before coming to the orphanage, Zhang Yueqiong only had experience in taking care of her own two children, and caring for special children was not an easy task for her.

"Because of the difficulty in communicating with the children, when I first started taking care of them, I didn't even dare to start it, for fear of accidentally hurting them." Zhang Yueqiong said. In order to let the children accept her as soon as possible, Zhang Yueqiong worked hard to learn the nursing techniques of her predecessors, asked for special child care skills, and after a period of hard work, she successfully adapted to the job.

Most of the children in Zhang Yueqiong's care are suffering from diseases, but doctors cannot be there at all times, so Zhang Yueqiong has participated in nursing training many times and worked hard to learn nursing knowledge, so that she can do simple treatment in case of emergencies. In addition, Zhang Yueqiong is also very concerned about the psychological problems of children. "Even though these kids don't talk much, I know they can feel our emotions." In getting along with the children, Zhang Yueqiong is very patient, some children do not like to talk, she takes the initiative to communicate with them, when taking a bath, she will ask the children if the water is cold, when playing with the children, she will ask them if they are tired, even if the children do not respond many times, Zhang Yueqiong does not give up. "When the children took the initiative to hold my hand for the first time, they were both surprised and moved, and felt closer to the children."

In the Yunfu Welfare Institute, there are many such special "mothers", who take good care of these children, gently protect these children, and use their own efforts to make the children feel the warmth of "home".
