ReMIX Critical Studio is a space studio dedicated to breaking down boundaries between professionalism and scale. The three founders – Chen Chen, Federico Ruberto and Nicola Saladino – come from diverse academic backgrounds and have extensive experience in multi-scale and multi-genre design practices at several international firms. We are involved in architectural design, landscape architecture and urban planning, with a particular expertise in intersectional, integrated design. We understand the city as a complex dynamic system, and the cross-domain, cross-scale, systematic way of working is the premise of our multi-faceted consideration of urban design issues. Chen Donghua Partners is an architectural design firm rooted in Both Guangzhou and Shenzhen, focusing on the reshaping of spatial types and structural types, aiming to re-examine the public and cultural attributes of contemporary architecture. The firm's practice covers planning, architecture, interior, landscape, research, exhibitions and other projects, and has won many awards in international competitions. In 2016, he won the first round of international competition winners of the Lithuanian National Science and Technology Museum, and in 2020, he was shortlisted for a number of important public building competitions in Shenzhen, including the second prize of Shenzhen Financial and Cultural Center, the finalist award of international performing arts center and the first prize of the excellence award of the Reform and Opening-up Exhibition Hall.
Justin Chen is an award-winning registered architect with over 12 years of experience in large-scale international projects. He holds a master's degree in architecture from Harvard University and a double bachelor's degree in architecture and civil engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He has worked for many years as a lead designer in SOM's New York and Shanghai offices, and is now a design partner at EID Hong Kong Architects, covering supertall towers, large multi-purpose complexes, conference, cultural and educational facilities. The work integrates high-performance design, structural engineering and digital design; the design approach is integrated with the client's ideas on a technical and cultural level. His extensive professional experience brings a unique mindset to designing solutions and infuses a multicultural awareness and an international perspective.
Founding Partner & Principal Architect Cheng Yanchun, Waseda University Graduate School of Creative Science and Engineering, Major in Architecture/Ph.D., Lecturer in Architecture, School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. He always adheres to the concept of "rational design logic leads to the sensibility and poetry of architecture", and uses a precise and rigorous design language to give architecture an elegant and pure artistic temperament. He practices the types of architectural projects in the fields of culture, education, commercial office, catering and leisure, cultural tourism, industrial parks and residential areas.
Founded in 2010 by He Zhe, Shen Haien and Zang Feng, the building has offices in Beijing and Boston, respectively. Based on the principle of "design for the public", we achieve social impact through innovative design methods that intersect multiple disciplines such as cities, buildings, and products in the fields of education, office, residence and urban renewal. Huang Haoshan graduated from South China University of Technology in 2003, went to France to study in the same year, and obtained a DPLG master's degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Hautes et Desés Desirs in Paris in 2007. In 2008, he joined the Guangzhou Pearl River Foreign Architectural Design Institute and served as the deputy director of Huang Jie Studio. In 2014, with the establishment of the South China Design Center of Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute in Guangzhou, he joined and served as the director of an architectural design institute until now.
Huang Zelin: Architect, Master of Architecture, Bachelor of Arts, established Air Alliance Architects in 2015. His architectural design encompasses the knowledge of urbanism, architecture, phenomenology, art, natural physics and the sensitivity of body and space; he continues to explore the relative existence of combining place and architecture, spatial phenomena and human imagination, nature and man-made, history and the future, etc. in the process of creation, and on this basis, he aims to create an "environmental architecture" that allows multidimensional things and states to penetrate, and then stimulate the objective pluralism of the communion between man, man-made objects and the environment. Hanxiao Liu, a German registered architect, received his Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science and Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Canada in 2009 and his Master of Architecture and Landscape Design Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012. After graduating, he became an architect at haascookzemmrich STUDIO 2050 in Stuttgart, Germany, and founded llLab in 2016 in collaboration with Luis Ricciardo, David Correa and Taiichi Kuma. His major works include Sanhi Cunzhong Village at the foot of the Mutianyu Great Wall in Beijing, Bamboo Pavilions and Pavilions in Guilin Impression Liu Sanjie Park, Tile Art Museum, and the renovation of the old site of the Glazed Tile Factory, focusing on the study of exploring rural areas and rural art revival, while trying the framework of sustainable urban community life in the urban field.
Falklands: In 2017, his debut film Deep House was published in architectural journal, and in the same year, he was awarded the title of "Domus Creative Youth 100+". In 2018, the Huangshan Nanshitang renovation project was shortlisted for the DESIGN POWER100 2018 China Design Power List. In 2019, he was specially hired as a rural designer in Pudong New Area, Shanghai. In 2020, the Hanging Shore Flybridge project won the Archdaily 2020 China Architecture Annual Award, was shortlisted for the 2020 FA Young Architect Award TOP12, and was invited to participate in the "Heterogeneous Off-Road: Duolun Road - 'Art In Urban Space' series of project art exhibitions sponsored by Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art in the same year. Su Chaohao: Master of Civil Engineering & Doctor of Architecture, 2010.07 to present, South China University of Technology Architectural Design and Research Institute He Jingtang Academician Studio, engaged in modern architectural creation and theoretical research, presided over the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth), Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation, Guangzhou Pearl River Science and Technology Rising Star Special Project and other 6 longitudinal projects. He has published more than 20 papers in core journals such as Architectural Journal and New Architecture, including 5 EI searches and 1 SCI search. Mr. Wang Lang is the deputy chief architect of CCDI, vice president of design, and the lead architect of 21 Design Studio. Wang Lang is a CHARTERED ARCHITECT of RIBA, a senior member of the Architectural Society of China, an off-campus graduate tutor of the Department of Architecture of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, an off-campus tutor of the Department of Architecture of Shenzhen University, a national first-class registered architect, and a professor-level senior engineer. He has won the Design Award of China Survey Association (first prize and third prize), the Creation Award of Architectural Society of China, the First Prize of Survey and Design of Guangdong Province, the Excellence Award of Shanghai Creation Award, the Gold Award of National Quality Engineering, and the Luban Award of China Construction Engineering. Engaged in architectural professional design for 16 years, he has outstanding achievements in super high-rise, industrial parks, complexes and cultural buildings.
Yang Xu is currently the executive chief architect and deputy general manager of Shenzhen Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., and also serves as the deputy director of the Academic Committee of the Architectural Society of China on The Human Settlement Environment of High-rise Buildings and other academic positions. He has won important awards in the industry such as the 8th Young Architect Award of the Architectural Society of China in 2010, the First Outstanding Young Survey designer of Shenzhen in 2020, and the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker of Civil Engineering and Construction in Guangdong Province in 2020. Yang Xu mainly works in the creation of public cultural buildings, the practice and research of industrial urban areas, and the control of complex urban design, and the projects he has presided over or participated in have won many awards.
Zeng Guansheng, born in 1981 in Shajing, Bao'an District, Shenzhen, is a native of Shenzhen. Shenzhen's urban development and personal growth experience are the source and driving force in his architectural practice, and also prompt him to create a better living environment and urban life through continuous exploration and practice. Bachelor of Architecture from Shenzhen University, Master of Architecture from Harvard University, Founder and Lead Designer of Mozhao Architectural Design Firm.
Founder of TTD Guangzhou Benzhi Design Office, graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, founded Benzhi Design in 2013, with many years of design and management experience. The types of projects designed include cultural tourism, commercial, real estate, etc., and conduct field research and investigation for different regional styles, cultures and environments, and provide design solutions. Good at integrating natural elements into the design, advocating the concept of natural construction. At the same time, we draw inspiration from modern works of art and combine the thinking of works of art with the thinking of architectural space.
Zhu Zhiyuan graduated from the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in architecture. Senior design partner and design director of Shuliang Society, national first-class registered architect. In 2006, he worked at The Architectural Office (Huali) and participated in the post-disaster reconstruction of Xiaoquan Town National Primary School and johnson and johnson of the Beijing Olympic Exhibition Hall. In 2012, he joined Vertical Beam as a Senior Design Partner, and personally represented Vertical Beam Society in the Area magazine China Pioneer Firm in Italy. Representative works: Enning Road Yongqingfang, Haizhu Tongchuanghui, Quanzhou Vankeli, Pearl River Brewery Renovation (Phase I and II), B.I.G Haizhu Bay Creative Park, Dongguan White House Homestay Group, etc. Vertical Beam Society is a design company rooted in Guangzhou, mainly designing and researching Chinese cities and buildings in the new development stage, especially urban renewal and architectural revitalization in the context of the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In recent years, the team has completed a series of works with social influence, such as Enning Road Yongqingfang, Haizhu Vipin Tongchuanghui, Dongguan Xinji White House, Shude Creative Park and other architectural projects. Many of the old reform projects of the Vertical Beam Society focus on the combination of artistry and practice, which have been well received by all walks of life and widely reported by domestic and foreign media.
