After the five-hour talks with Putin, Macron traveled non-stop to Ukraine to meet with Zelenskiy.
Before the meeting began, Macron told the media that he had received Putin's "promise" that the situation in Russia and Ukraine would not escalate further and that Russian troops deployed to Belarus would withdraw after the exercise.
However, Macron's claim was quickly denied by the Russian side.
On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Peskov said that in the previous day's "Phuma Meeting", no agreement was reached between Russia and France.
Peskov also pointed out that although France is a member of the European Union and a member of NATO, it is not a leading member of NATO.
For now, Macron's use of the russian-Ukrainian tensions is not ideal.
