Reborn from the fire! The familiar "everyday" is back

With 179.45 points, he once again set his own season best. From the 22nd place in last year's World Championships to the rebirth of the fire now, Jin Boyang could not hide his excitement and once again left tears of excitement.

At this moment, he finally said goodbye to the previous lows, and the familiar "daily" returned.

Once upon a time, Jin Boyang was a talented teenager in Chinese men's figure skating: he completed his first four-week jump at the age of 14. At the age of 18, Jin Boyang completed the "hook hand four weeks followed by the outer point ice three week jump" in the China Cup competition, becoming the first athlete in the world to complete this action on the international stage. In that year, he completed four four-week jumps in a program at the World Figure Skating Championships in Boston, not only becoming the first male single skater in China to reach the world championships, but also creating a "new trend" of increasing difficulty and turnovers worldwide.

Reborn from the fire! The familiar "everyday" is back

"When I was a teenager, I saw all the Chang'an flowers in one day." 10 years ago, Jin Boyang, with his super high level of jumping around and excellent basic skills, had the nickname of "Mars Boy".

However, after finishing fourth at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Jin Boyang came to a turning point. The difficulty of the world's men's single skaters is increasing, but their own level has not broken through much. Falling down again and again, losing again and again, all made Jin Boyang a little confused.

Thinking back to that time, Jin Boyang said: "Before every competition, I wanted to succeed, I wanted to succeed, no matter how it was, no matter obliquely or horizontally, it was going to be successful." But the coach told me that you have to accept your failures, and sometimes if you don't accept failures, you may be easy to mess up. It doesn't matter if you fail, everyone will fail, after failure, think about the next action, adjust in time, be flexible, accept your failure in time, do each step step by step, leave no regrets. ”

In this way, in the process of continuous adjustment, Jin Boyang entered the preparation cycle for the Beijing Winter Olympics. However, what awaits him still seems to be constant frustration.

At the World Championships last March, Jin Boyang played poorly, only finishing 22nd, while creating his own personal world championship record score, which also led to the Chinese figure skating team in the Men's Singles event of the Beijing Winter Olympics with only one place. At the 2021 Asian Figure Skating Open last October, Jin Boyang was third, with 18-year-old World Championships runner-up Yumasa Kenyama from Japan winning the championship and his 17-year-old compatriot Jun Sato winning the silver medal. After the game, Jin Boyang said that he had been hospitalized for appendicitis before the game, resulting in poor condition. But can participating in the Beijing Winter Olympics in this state really make a difference? Such a question mark has been placed on Jin Boyang.

"Maybe I want to win too much, but I want to perform well when I get to the game." But the more you want to play the level, it is a little 'tight' and can't slip out. Jin Boyang said. During this period, the figure skating coaching team has also been actively helping him to make adjustments. "Yao Bin has a lot of experience in coaching, which we don't have. I am a relatively introverted person, and I have more ideas, and some things always want to digest by myself, and I have been holding them in my heart. When it comes to the game, I want to finish well, but I am conservative. At this time, people will continue to encourage me and enlighten me. Jin Boyang said.

Finally, in the figure skating competition in Turin, Italy, last November, Jin Boyang adjusted his form and scored a high score of 97.89 in the short program. And finally in the domestic selection competition, with a greater advantage in the Winter Olympics list.

The team competition was a 6th and a 4th, contributing 12 points to the Chinese figure skating team; the men's single skating short program scored more than 90 points, and Jin Boyang's performance became more and more stable.

And today, in the men's singles skating competition, he surpassed himself again. Standing on the field of the Winter Olympics again after four years, Jin Boyang finally regained his original intention of skating in the trough.
