Zhu Yi's father, Zhu Chunsong, is a world-renowned computer vision expert, statistical and applied mathematician, and artificial intelligence expert. He has been teaching at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for 18 years since 2002. Now he has returned to China to serve as dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Peking University.
