The list shows that Tesla CEO Elon Musk was officially elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering. According to public information, Musk graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a double degree in economics and physics.
As for the reasons for the selection, the American Academy of Engineering said that as the CEO and chief engineer of SpaceX, Musk is believed to have achieved breakthroughs in the reusability of rockets and the design and manufacture of new energy systems.
In addition to Musk, the energy storage field was selected by Gray Denise, president of LG Energy Solutions Michigan, general electric (GE. N) McDonald John, head of smart grid business, was selected for the smart grid field.
According to the financial report, Tesla achieved revenue of $53.823 billion in 2021, an increase of 71% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders reached $5.519 billion, an increase of 665% year-on-year.
