Today's opening remarks: "The Palace of the King of Nanyue"

Author: Qin Hongyuan

Yesterday, I visited the ruins of the Nanyue Royal Palace, which is located in Zhongshan 4th Road, Guangzhou, and was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relics protection unit in 1996. In December 2006, it was included in the preliminary list of World Cultural Heritage in China.

Walking into the site museum, the first thing you see is the Royal Garden of South Vietnam two thousand years ago, which contains stone ponds, curved canals, flat bridges, step stones, cloisters and other ruins, which is currently the best preserved and earliest imperial garden ruins in China.

It is worth mentioning that in the lower layer of the Ruins of the Nanyue Royal Palace, there are qin dynasty shipbuilding sites, and above the palace ruins there are historical relics of various dynasties from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Republic of China. They are like a wordless history book, telling people that this is the history of the expansion and change of the city of Guangzhou as the center.

The State of Nanyue was born in the late Qin Dynasty, and Zhao Tuo established himself as king in the chaotic world, which temporarily stabilized and developed the State of Nanyue at that time. But since ancient times, every person who founded a dynasty has not been a common man, and has the wisdom to dominate one side.

After five generations of kings, the kingdom of South Vietnam vanished into obscurity and was annihilated in the gushing waters. The history of South Vietnam is short and cannot be forgotten. It opened a city, the city of Guangzhou today. The Royal Palace of Nanyue has experienced the vicissitudes of the years, and it is recalled by posterity more than 2,000 years later, which can also be regarded as eternal and evergreen.

Please share a set of photos I took yesterday at the ruins of the Nanyue Royal Palace.
