In 2018, the Jingzhou Museum conducted an archaeological excavation of Tomb No. 29 of the Drum Terrace Cemetery of the Western Han Dynasty. The tomb is a pit vertical cave tomb, the rafter room is 5.6 meters long, 2.8 meters wide, the direction is east-west, the preliminary judgment is that the burial time is the Western Han Dynasty, which is the early tomb of the Western Han Dynasty.

In 2018, archaeology in the Qin and Han dynasties has made new achievements in terms of sites, tombs, frontier areas and topics.

In terms of comprehensive research, Duan Qingbo's "Outline of Han Civilization in Archaeology" believes that the Han civilization in archaeology is a cultural system that uses Chinese characters as a tool for writing and communication, a cosmology of yin and yang, a way of thinking with opposites and flexibilities, and a way of behaving with core values of rules (Zhu Yan, editor-in-chief: Archaeological Journal, Vol. 21, Social Science Literature Publishing House).

I. Archaeology of the Qin Dynasty

ShanglinYuan is a large-scale garden in the southwest suburbs of Xianyang, Qindu Xianyang and the southwest suburb of Chang'an, the Qin and Han Dynasties, "Qin and Han Shanglinyuan - Archaeological Report 2004 ~ 2012" (Cultural Relics Publishing House) In addition to supplementing some of the contents of the architectural sites of Shanglinyuan No. 1 to 9 that have been announced, it also newly reported the investigation and exploration data of several architectural sites, such as the Dongmafang Architectural Site (Shanglinyuan No. 10 Site) on Gaoqiao Street, Fengdong New Town, Chang'an District, and the Wotou Zhai Coinage Site (Shanglinyuan No. 11 Site) in Jiyangzhai Street, Chang'an District. Zhouzhi County Jixian Town Jixian East Village architectural ruins and so on.

Zhang Weixing's "Analysis of the "Qin System":Based on the Observation of the Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin" is based on the archaeological practice of Qin Xianyang City and the Mausoleum of the First Emperor, combined with documentary records, and summarizes the connotation of the Qin system from three aspects: "Fa Tianxiang", "Yuan YuanShi Du" and "Construction of Authoritarian Center" (Western Archaeology, No. 16, Science Press).

Sun Weigang's "New Understanding of the Site Selection of the Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin" believes that the site selection of the Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin does not conform to the natural, geological (flash flood, bedrock, groundwater level) conditions and the historical tradition of the site selection of the mausoleum, so it is a wrong choice (Archaeology and Cultural Relics, No. 4).
