In this regard, Great Wall Motors replied, "In November 2021, Great Wall Motors and Linyi Municipal Government officially signed a contract on the Linyi vehicle and parts production base project. The signatories for this project are Great Wall Motors and Linyi Municipal Government, and no other third parties are involved. ”

However, the reporter found through autoNavi map inquiry that the original Zotye Linyi production base (No. 76 Hongkong Road, Hedong District, Linyi City) has changed the Linyi branch of Great Wall Motor. From the geographical layout of Zotye Bus Bus Station next to the map and the Linyi Zotye Hotel, it can be seen that this is the location of the former factory of Zotye Automobile.

"Great Wall Motors' revitalization of the former Zotye Linyi production base is conducive to activating idle production capacity, integrating and coordinating regional resources, and driving the development of regional related industries, which has a positive pulling effect." Industry insiders pointed out to reporters.

The reporter learned from Great Wall Motors that the Great Wall Motor Linyi vehicle and parts production base project, mainly including an annual output of 120,000 vehicle production bases, engine and parts production bases, etc., can drive more than ten supporting enterprises in the automobile industry to settle in. From Great Wall Motors' reply, it can be seen that Great Wall has made a clear plan for the Linyi base.

Regarding the Linyi production base, Wei Jianjun, chairman of Great Wall Motor, once said that after the project is put into production, the Linyi base of Great Wall Motor will put two of the company's latest models, and at present, all two cars have been developed and can directly achieve mass production and put on the market.

Before Zotye Linyi production base, in 2021, Great Wall Motor reorganized a number of factories that have been discontinued or are on the verge of stopping production, such as Cheetah Jingmen Factory and Hanteng Shangrao No.2 Factory. Among them, it entered Jingmen, Hubei Province, and Great Wall Motors re-revitalized the Cheetah Factory. After the transformation, the production of its hot product Tank 500 was put into production.

Behind the frequent purchase of factories and the expansion of production capacity is Great Wall Motor's preparation for achieving its sales target of 4 million vehicles in 2025. Great Wall Motor plans to achieve global sales of 4 million vehicles by 2025, of which 80% are new energy vehicles, with operating income of more than 600 billion yuan, and in the next five years, the cumulative research and development investment will be 100 billion yuan. Based on sales of 1.28 million units in 2021, the sales target for 2025 is three times higher than in 2021.

According to public information, Great Wall Motor's Tianjin base has a production capacity of 500,000 vehicles, Baoding factory has a production capacity of 400,000 vehicles, Xushui Smart Factory has a planned annual production capacity of 1 million vehicles, Rizhao Factory has an annual production capacity of 300,000 vehicles, Yongchuan Production Base has an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles, Taizhou Factory and Pinghu Factory have an annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles, Zhangjiagang Base planning standard annual production capacity of 160,000 vehicles, Jingmen Factory can achieve an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles after full production, plus 120,000 Hanteng Phase II factory with a production capacity of 120,000 vehicles, and a Hanlong plant with a planned production capacity of 100,000 vehicles. As well as the Linyi plant with a production capacity of 120,000, Great Wall Motor's total production capacity will exceed 3 million units.

In fact, Great Wall Motors not only absorbs idle production capacity in China, but also in the international arena, when some multinational car companies choose to reduce production capacity, Great Wall Motors is going against the current. Since 2020, Great Wall Motors has successively acquired a number of overseas factories or built new plants.

Recently, Great Wall Motors officially took over the Plant in Iracemapolis, Brazil, and released its Brazilian market strategy, including the launch of 10 electrified models in three years, the creation of a local industrial chain layout, and the localization of key components, with a total investment of about 11.5 billion yuan. With the intelligent and digital transformation and upgrading of the plant, great wall motor is expected to put into operation in the second half of 2023, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units, which will radiate throughout Latin America in the future.
