After the release of macOS Monterey 12.2 last month, some Mac users who installed the software update began experiencing excessive battery drain in sleep mode, seemingly due to bluetooth accessories waking up their devices frequently. This issue also appears to affect devices running macOS 12.3 Beta 1.

Many affected users find that when their Mac spends the night in sleep mode, battery life drops from 100% to 0%. Some users have tried to find out why in the terminal, finding that Bluetooth accessories often cause "waking up from deep idle", causing the Mac to wake up repeatedly from sleep and drain the battery.

Fortunately, the macOS 12.3 Beta 2 beta released today seems to solve this problem. Mr. Macintosh said in a tweet that his 2018 MacBook Pro encountered this problem on the first beta of macOS 12.3 and is no longer affected on the second beta.
