(No. 1)

The study of the history of the Republic of China at Nanjing University began in 1974 and was one of the earliest academic institutions to set foot in the field. In 1983, the Institute of History of Nanjing University set up the Research Office of the History of the Republic of China, which made use of the special advantages of geography and archival materials to promote academic research. Later, in order to further promote the development of the study of the history of the Republic of China and strengthen academic exchanges, the Research Center for the History of the Republic of China of Nanjing University was formally established on June 18, 1993. In 1972, the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences established the Research Group on the History of the Republic of China, marking the beginning of the study of the history of the Republic of China in China. Up to now, the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, together with different units, has successfully held three sessions of the "Youth Forum on the History of the Republic of China". On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the birth of the discipline of republic of China history, in order to promote the new development of the study of the history of the Republic of China, the Research Center for the History of the Republic of China of Nanjing University will jointly hold the "Fourth Youth Forum on the History of the Republic of China" with the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Although this forum focuses on the period from 1912 to 1949, it emphasizes that the history of the Republic of China should be observed and understood in the context of modern and modern history and even longer history, and the role of the history of the Republic of China in the historical process of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation should be interpreted from a long period of time. Previous forums have emphasized the history of the Republic of China from a regional and global perspective, and the theme of this forum is "Research on the History of the Republic of China from the Perspective of Overall History". We advocate breaking the boundaries of disciplines, promoting dialogue in various fields such as politics, military, diplomacy, economy, thought, society, and culture, exploring the pursuit of overall form and meaning from fractured fragments, and looking forward to microscopic research with grand concern and academic discussions that reflect the characteristics of the discipline of the history of the Republic of China. The specific requirements are as follows:

Participants: Under 45 years old (born after January 1, 1977), nationality is not limited.

Papers: the topic is not limited, the length is preferably within 20,000 words of Chinese, and the English manuscript is within 20 pages; the format is in accordance with the technical processing specifications of "Modern History Research"; the manuscript must have a 300-word Chinese abstract and 3 to 5 keywords; and the author profile (name, date of birth, work unit, title, degree) and contact information are attached.

Deadline: April 20, 2022 (receipt); July 20, 2022 (Submission)

Related expenses: During the conference, the cost of food and accommodation will be borne by the organizer, and the round-trip transportation expenses are at your own expense

After the completion of the call for papers, relevant experts will be organized to anonymously review and select participating papers. The results will be announced within 10 days of submission deadline.
