Ericsson: 2.6GHz + 4.9GHz carrier aggregation, making the network faster, more stable and stronger

Such a rate level not only meets the network transmission needs of various high-definition live broadcast applications, but also makes full use of existing carrier resources to meet the network usage needs of live audiences, avoiding the problem of smooth broadcasting of live games or congestion due to high capacity. While improving the user experience, it also brings new choices to the organizing committee's event broadcast plan.

In addition, in view of the particularity of the communication network guarantee in the competition area, Ericsson and Hebei Mobile conducted in-depth discussions on the needs of "efficient operation and maintenance" and developed a customized "intelligent network optimization platform". The service platform is designed to improve the diagnostic speed of network performance, with high scalability and good results. By using big data, artificial intelligence and data analysis functions, the platform implements real-time monitoring of many network performance indicators, which provides an effective guarantee for improving network operation and maintenance efficiency.

Beijing presented an innovative Olympic event to the world, and the widespread use of cloud technology in the Olympic sports scene simplified the development, integration and deployment process of the Olympic business system, shortening the time, reducing the cost and enriching the user experience.

"The Beijing Winter Olympics coincided with the Spring Festival holiday, so the attention increased sharply, and higher requirements were put forward for the resource scheduling, system stability and security of the network. Alibaba Cloud has made sufficient preparations in terms of re-guaranteeing the formation and emergency plan to fully ensure the smooth progress of the Winter Olympics," said the person in charge of technical support for the Alibaba Cloud Winter Olympics.

Among them, the Olympic core system refers to the digital information system that plays a key role in the organization and operation of the Olympic Games. With the continuous evolution of the Olympic organization and management model, the olympic core system is currently divided into three categories: one is the Olympic information management and distribution system (OMS/ODS), which provides the event schedule, athlete registration, registration, Olympic information release, etc.; the second is the Games management system (GMS), providing services for athletes' transportation, accommodation, arrival and departure, medical and health care; and the third is a series of digital platforms including event organization and collaborative office.

Yu Hong, director of the Technology Department of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, said that the core information system of the Beijing Winter Olympics has achieved 100% cloud, and the core information systems of the Olympic Games, event broadcasting, information release, athlete arrival and departure, medical care, accommodation, and transportation have been migrated to Alibaba Cloud. This is the first time in the history of the Olympic Games that cloud computing has replaced traditional IT, carrying the organization and operation of the Olympic Games, and cloud security is crucial.

The realization of the core system of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games is a milestone in the digitalization of the Olympic Games, which can not only efficiently integrate resources and support the operation of the event, but also bring a variety of viewing methods and a new viewing experience to sports fans, and also bring more production space to media workers, so that Olympic workers around the world can enjoy high-quality remote production on the cloud.

It is worth mentioning that in these technical solutions, the concept of "green Olympics" and sustainable development runs through the whole process. In 2018, the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee and Alibaba Cloud jointly unveiled the Beijing Winter Olympic Cloud Data Center, which was deployed in alibaba's Zhangbei data center, maximizing the use of local wind, solar energy and other clean energy sources, with the help of natural forces to achieve cooling, only about 15 days a year need to use the traditional cooling mode, energy consumption dropped by 59%. The Beijing Winter Olympics have created many world firsts, and it is also innovative for digital video to support the construction and application of the 5G ultra-high-definition studio of the high-speed rail of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The difficulty in the construction of the high-speed rail 5G ultra-high-definition studio is that on the fast-moving high-speed rail train, the base stations along the line are in a state of rapid switching, which leads to the need to frequently switch 5G base stations for the signals in the car, and the upstream bandwidth of a single base station is also greatly limited, making it difficult to transmit a 4K signal independently.

After repeated tests and program optimization, digital video finally realized the stable backhaul of 40MHz ultra-high-definition video signal to the receiving platform of the 5G media application laboratory of CCTV Headquarters.
