In Apple's latest release of iOS 15.4 beta 1, some developers have found that Apple has added AR/VR internal code to the system, including APIs for developers, web applications and user notification functions.
According to the predictions of many whistleblowers in the past, Apple's first AR/VR headset will be released at the end of 2022 or early 2023, and Apple seems to have begun to adapt it to the iOS side now.
There are 4 test features found in iOS 15.4 beta 1:
WebXR augmented reality mode
WebXR device API
WebXR Gamepad module
WebXR handwriting module
All four features are currently disabled, and developers have speculated that these features are Apple's preparation for future AR/VR headsets, all of which use the same AR/VR interactive WebXR API.
At the same time, iOS 15.4 beta 1 also enables two network push APIs that are turned off by default - "Built-in Web Notifications" and "Push APIs", which enable Safari to implement network push and web notification functions, which will be introduced in subsequent iOS releases.
