The origin of the couplet is said to have originated in the Qin Dynasty. The written record is that Meng Chang, the Later Shu monarch of the Five Dynasties period from 907 to 960, wrote a couplet of "New Year NaYu Qing, Jia Jie Changchun" on the day of the Chinese New Year's Eve, which was placed on the peach symbol around his bed treasure gate, which was the earliest couplet on the mainland.
Chunlian is derived from the ancient Chinese Piao script, which draws on the literary form of the Chinese poetry tradition, and is different from the ancient Piao style and poetry, which is a unique form of independent style. Its salient feature is that in form, it is paired in pairs, the two pairs are "paired" with each other, and the content is mutually responsive and closely linked. The uplink and downlink of a pair of couplets must be complete and unified in structure, and the language must be clear and concise. Its specific requirements are: the number of words in the upper and lower links should be equal, the upper and lower joint phrases should be the same, the part of speech should be consistent, the upper and lower links should be adjusted, and finally the horizontal batch of the couplet should be selected.

In order to increase the festive atmosphere, the Spring Festival is all black characters on a red background or gold characters on a red background, plus a variety of ornaments, which looks festive and joyful.

Each couplet has its own specific meaning, and when writing couplets, the profound meaning is generally taken as the lower link, and the value of the upper link is more in the guiding role. The upper and lower links are basically causal, because the cause is the upper link, and the effect is the lower link.
3. Time undertaking distinction
According to the inheritance of "resigning the old and welcoming the new", the past time is uplinked in the front, and the upcoming time is lower in the back, and commonly used words such as the zodiac sign and the resignation of the old year, as well as the new year.
4. The law of distinguishing the scope of coverage
In general, the small scope is the upper link, and the larger scope is the lower link, such as the common "home and country" and the like, the home is the upper link, and the country is the lower link.
