Ding Xiangyang, born on February 27, 1950, a native of Rongcheng City, Shandong Province, the owner of Lan Mingxuan, a member of the China Artists Association, a national first-class artist, a standing director and deputy secretary-general of the Shandong Provincial Academy of Chinese Painting, a director of the Shandong Provincial Chinese Painting Society, the president of the Bohai Calligraphy and Painting Institute of Weihai City, and the director of the Ding Xiangyang Art Museum, was admitted to the first "Contemporary Ink Art Research Institute" peak class led by Liu Guosong, the father of modern ink painting, in 2018. In 2018, Ding Xiangyang held solo exhibitions in Rongcheng, Weihai, Jinan and other places. In 2019, he held a group exhibition with the disciples of Professor Liu Guosong, the "Father of Modern Ink Painting", in Shanghai. In September of the same year, he held a solo exhibition at the Hanmo (Qingzhou) Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Annual Conference. From December 21 to 24, 2019, he held a solo exhibition at the Beijing Shanshui Art Museum. In September 2019, the China Artists Association held the "Beautiful Yellow River Estuary • National Exhibition of Chinese Paintings and Oil Paintings" in Dongying, which won the highest award; in September 2020, it held a solo exhibition at the Hanmo Qingzhou Chinese Painting Annual Conference; from December 3 to 6, 2020, it held a solo exhibition of "Dadong Shengjing" Ding Xiangyang Ink Works National Tour Exhibition (Guangzhou Station) at the Guangzhou Art Fair; and from January 23 to March 23, 2021, it held a national tour exhibition (Rongcheng Station) of Ding Xiangyang ink works in "Dadong Shengjing" at the Rongcheng Museum From October 1 to 7, 2021, the exhibition of modern ink painting works of Ding Xiangyang in Dadong Shengjing (Weihai Station) was held at Weihai Art Museum; from 2019 to 2021, he published many articles on art theory in national core journals such as Shandong Art, China Art Magazine, China Calligraphy and Painting Magazine, and Fine Arts, and participated in the first and second art summit forums held by the China Artists Association in Jinan, Shandong and Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, and won the finalist and highest awards respectively.

As soon as I saw Mr. Ding Xiangyang's painting, I had a feeling of light. Whether it is landscape painting or ink abstract painting, Mr. Xiangyang is not conventional, seeking a breakthrough on the basis of integrating ancient and modern, taking the Chinese and the West, and leading a new style. When I further learned about Mr. Xiangyang's experience in learning art and painting and his life history, I had many feelings. There is a way is the source of the hero Mo Qing, the ancient and modern Chinese and foreign painting circles can be introduced to the new, leading the school, not all of them are from the art class,—— this is the impact and feeling of Weihai painter Mr. Ding Xiangyang and his works. Mr. Ding Xiangyang combined the traditional Chinese dotted lines with the western contemporary block surfaces to create a unique ink abstract painting method. He integrates some of the language symbols and techniques of Western modernist oil painting into Chinese painting, and through the special effect of water infiltration, creates a psychic and clear, profound charm and can give people unlimited reverie space, rough oil painting, careful observation is ink painting, breaking the boundary between Western oil painting and Chinese ink painting, making people refreshing, imaginative, can't help but sigh! After Mr. Ding Xiangyang entered the painting world, his early works were mainly freehand. However, whether it is early freehand or later abstraction, its style is the same, all of which are old and spicy with pen, flowing with ink, and bold with color. The face painting is concentrated, as if seeing the beginning of chaos and the birth of the Tao, feeling his magnificent mind and magnificent and broad vision. Ding Xiangyang came from an artistic family, was intelligent since childhood, was deeply influenced by his father Ding Shuqin and uncle Ding Shuliang, and loved the art of calligraphy and painting. However, painting is not his main business: when he was a teenager, he studied in a commercial school and studied under a professional art and painting teacher, practicing diligently and with a solid foundation; after working for many years in politics, he did not change his mind, and his pen work was unremitting, and he was deeply guided by the famous Chinese painter Mr. Zhou Shaohua and benefited a lot. It was not until 2007 that Ding Xiangyang had more time to immerse himself in the writings and works of Liu Guosong, Zhou Shaohua, Jia Youfu, Zao Wou-ki and other famous contemporary calligraphers and painters. Around 2010, I began to try to create abstract ink paintings, and since then I have immersed myself in it, and I can't stop it, and my experience and achievements are abundant. In 2018, he was admitted to the Contemporary Ink Painting Talent Summit Class of Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, and studied under Professor Liu Guosong, the "Father of Modern Ink Painting", and won the true transmission of the master, and the realm was even higher. In the time of studying painting, Mr. Ding Xiangyang relied on the spirit of hard work of "three thousand waste paintings", or smelled chicken ink, or stayed up all night, and now he is more old and strong, integrating innovation, and does not stop without fine products. Art has always been a mirror image of life, the light of the heart, and the chant of life. Years of political experience, cultivated Mr. Ding Xiangyang's bold and open-minded mind, atmospheric and broad pattern, unfazed courage, perseverance and humor, bring such a personal trait to the work, his work naturally has a different soul, with a strong and lively life. I believe that he will continue to achieve good results and surprises all the way in his future artistic exploration.

Ding Xiangyang, an explorer of modern art, is an artist with a special feeling in contemporary society, who applies Nietzsche's principle of "pleasant knowledge" with Barthes's "pleasure of text" and happily constructs his own "conceptual artwork" of "figurative abstraction". Looking at Ding Xiangyang's works, we find that he still takes the three-dimensional space as the starting point, and in the transformation into a two-dimensional plane space, let the colors and lines produce mysterious rhythms, which constitute the basic sense of structure, volume and cosmic rhythm of the painter's works. Here, it is worth noting that Ding Xiangyang has completed the exploration and experiment of "combining East and West", introducing color into ink and making it appear as the luster of the "third way", which is exhilarating, shocking and unforgettable. The essence of this exploration is to replace pure vision with a tactile and immersive vision. 678,500 yuan! Ding Xiangyang's three works Rong Baozhai Autumn Shoot successfully fell on the gavel
The Rongbaozhai Beijing Autumn Auction includes Chinese calligraphy and painting, antiques, modern and contemporary art, Buddhist art, ancient books, fine wines and many other categories, 16 special sessions, more than 2,000 pieces of treasures and masterpieces gathered together, the total turnover reached 586.5 million yuan, the total turnover rate of 78.2%.
Recently, it was learned from Artron Art Network that the "Beijing Rongbao 2021 Autumn Art Auction" hosted by Rongbaozhai was successfully hammered, and three works of Ding Xiangyang were sold for a total amount of 678,500 yuan.
