Axe splitting mountain stone painting method
The mountain stone is hard, the edges are clear, and the stone pattern seems to be split with an axe. Draw this kind of rock with straight lines, folding edges at the corners, and have strength. Axe splitting was most widely used in the Southern Song Dynasty, and it was also the peak period. The thin pen is called the small axe splitter, and the thick line is called the large axe splitting.
Step 1: Tick. The axe splitting method is suitable for painting on alum paper or alum silk, which is treated with alum glue, impermeable and not poured. This figure is first drafted with charcoal strips, and then the ink lines are lightened. After the final draft, wipe off the charcoal marks and add thick ink lines. The tip of the pen is dipped in ink and water (full of wet ink), and the lines are strong and strong. The lighter the charcoal strip, the better, and the line is easy to dust off after the ink line. If the duster is not clean, the cooked xuan (alum paper) can be used with a soft eraser (raw xuan cannot be erased with an eraser).

Step 4: Set color. The trunk and rock front are in ochre color. The sides and bottom of the mountain stone are made of ink blue (flower blue ink). The leaves and moss dots are grass green (flower green tone Garcinia garcinia).
