The little soldier in this photo is full of energy and smiles, and he is really loved by everyone.
The photograph was taken in 1944, when the young soldier was 13 years old and was photographed by an American journalist.
Born in a poor family in Guizhou, named Chen Youli, this little soldier lost the love of his parents from a young age, and his grandparents could not afford to support him, when he was 8 years old, he had to beg for food everywhere, and later fled from Guizhou to Yunnan with refugees.
When he was 12 years old, a groom of the 200th Division of the Nationalist Army took him in, and he helped the groom raise and release horses. He later became a company commander's attendant.
As he grew older, Chen Youli participated in the anti-Japanese campaigns such as reconquesting Longling and conquering Songshan, was captured by our army in the civil war, and then participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. Later, he returned to his hometown of Guizhou and worked as a farmer for a lifetime.
In August 2014, volunteers from Guizhou Veteran Care visited Chen Youli's home to offer condolences, and found out in the wrong way that Chen Youli was the expeditionary force creep (the creep in the photo above) taken by the American reporter that everyone had been looking for.
After 70 years, Chen Youli saw his own photos of his military uniform and couldn't help but burst into tears.
