Manned lunar landings, Mars sampling returns... In the next five years, China's aerospace industry will have these major events

On January 28, the Information Office of the State Council released the white paper "2021 China's Aerospace" and held a press conference at 10:00 a.m. on the same day to introduce the relevant situation of the white paper and answer reporters' questions.

The white paper pointed out that since 2016, as of December 2021, a total of 207 launch missions have been completed, of which 183 launches of the Long March series of carrier rockets have been completed, and the total number of launches has exceeded 400. The Long March series of carrier rockets has accelerated the upgrading to the direction of non-toxicity, pollution-free, modularization and intelligence, the "Long March 5" and "Long March 5 B" carrier rockets have been applied and launched, the "Long March 8" and "Long March 7 A" have achieved their first flight, and the carrying capacity has been continuously enhanced. The diversified launch service capabilities of carrier rockets have reached a new level, the "Long March 11" has realized the commercial application launch at sea, and the commercial carrier rockets such as "Jielong 1", "Kuaizhou 1 A", "Hyperbola 1" and "Ceres I" have been successfully launched. The reusable vehicle flight demonstration verification test was successful.

In the next five years, China will continue to improve the comprehensive performance of its space transport system and accelerate the upgrading of carrier rockets. Promote the development of the carrier rocket type spectrum, develop and launch a new generation of manned carrier rockets and high-thrust solid carrier rockets, and accelerate the development of heavy carrier rocket projects. Continue to carry out key technologies for reuse of space transportation systems and demonstrate and verify them. In view of the needs of flight launches, we will develop new rocket engines, combined power, upper stages and other technologies, and expand diversified and convenient access to space capabilities.

Deepen the demonstration of the manned moon landing plan

In the next five years, China will continue to implement the manned spaceflight project, launch the "Qingtian" experimental module, the "Dream Sky" experimental module, the "Sky Survey" space telescope, as well as the "Shenzhou" manned spacecraft and the "Tianzhou" cargo spacecraft, fully build and operate the Chinese space station, build a national space laboratory, and carry out long-term astronaut stays, large-scale space science experiments, and space station platform maintenance. Deepen the demonstration of the manned lunar landing plan, organize the development of key technical research, develop a new generation of manned spacecraft, and consolidate the foundation for manned exploration and development of the Earth-Moon space.

Mars sampling will be returned

In the next five years, China will continue to implement lunar exploration projects, launch the Chang'e-6 probe, complete the sampling and return of the lunar polar region, launch the Chang'e-7 probe, complete the high-precision landing of the lunar polar region and the leap detection of the shadow crater, complete the key technology research of the "Chang'e-8" mission, and jointly carry out the construction of the international lunar research station with relevant countries, international organizations and international partners. Continue to implement planetary exploration projects, launch asteroid probes, complete near-Earth asteroid sampling and main-belt comet exploration, and complete key technologies such as Mars sample return and Jupiter exploration. Demonstrate implementation plans such as marginal exploration of the solar system.

Developed space gravitational wave detection satellite and Einstein probe

In the next five years, China will focus on scientific themes such as extreme universe, space-time ripples, solar-Earth panorama, and livable planets, develop space gravitational wave detection satellites, Einstein probes, advanced space-based solar observatories, solar wind-magnetosphere interaction panoramic imaging satellites, and high-precision geomagnetic field measurement satellites, and continue to carry out forward-looking exploration and basic research in the fields of space astronomy, heliospheric physics, moon and planetary science, space earth science, and space basic physics, and give birth to more original scientific achievements.

Cultivate and develop new space economy formats such as space tourism

In the next five years, China Aerospace will firmly seize the opportunities of digital industrialization and industrial digital development, face the diversified needs of economic and social development and the public, increase the transformation and technology transfer of aerospace achievements, enrich application scenarios, innovate business models, and promote the deep integration of space applications and digital economic development. Expand the breadth and depth of satellite remote sensing and satellite communication applications, implement the Beidou industrialization project, and provide more advanced and economical high-quality products and convenient services for various industries and fields of the national economy and mass consumption. Cultivate and develop new space economy formats such as space tourism, space biopharmaceuticals, space debris removal, and space test services, and enhance the scale and efficiency of the space industry.
